Newbie on NMT
« on: Nov 14, 2012 at 11:52 AM »
Hello PDVD gurus. I am new on this hobby. I love watching movies at dream ko magkaroon ng movie room sa bahay kaso as of now wala pa ko space.

I bought a Samsung plasma PS51E8000 last July. So its been months now na wala kaming player. I bought this tv kasi gustong gusto ng anak ko manood ng 3D, which we always do everytime may 3D movies sa mga sinehan.

I have been reading here for months na din. Hehe. Hard earned money kasi kaya wala ako budget ng bibili ng isang bagay then after a month or 2 benta kasi hindi maganda. Dati kasi puro error message whenever i tried to register.

Ang tanong ko ay kung kailangan ko pa rin ba ng NMT/Jukebox to play movies with good PQ considering na yung Samsung ko ay merong usb port na dedicated for HDD (5V, 1A). If so, ano po ba ang magandang NMT? Dapat 3D capable sya. I am after the PQ, at user friendly. Was looking at Egreat R6s which is around 6k plus 2tb mga 5k Or get the R300 Pro at 10k with 2tb so,15k. Or maybe the Measy X5 with 2tb at 11k. And besides may pc naman ako pang download.

Hope PDVD gurus can help me. Maraming salamat po.

finalize your budget first then go from there. yung usb input ng tv mo should play standard avi and mkv. PQ should be comparable to NMTs. disadvantage lang cguro is hindi kaya magplay ng 3D. my suggestion is to utilize first yung usb input ng tv and see if it would already satisfy your needs

Afterwards yung AVR, then speakers na.

Salamat po

with your 15k budget, you'll need to buy HDD ... biggest capacity available is recommended, 3TB would cost 7-7.5k ... so you budget for the player would be around 7-8k ... common NMT's used by PDVD members are Measy, Med8er, Xtreamer, Egreat, and Popcorn hour - you won't go wrong with any of these brands, but I would suggest that you buy the latest model available that would fit your budget to ensure availability of new features and more firmware upgrades

do not look so much into added features such as Android apps, torrent downloader, and browser - these are features that you would likely explore at the start, but in the long run you would just likely use your NMT as a player for audio, video, and pictures ... those other feature add-ons are available and much better to use on a PC or tablet ... don't worry so much on issues about compatibility on playing certain file formats, as almost all of these different brands support the same media formats - most issues on compatibility are either due to old firmware or problem on the file itself - you can always upgrade the firmware and download another movie file

some basic features you'd likely want and use on your NMT - 3D support, full BD menu, web remote (Android or IOS device), support for internal storage (less clutter) ...
Marantz NR1200, MartinLogan Motion 20 digital audio setup, and Sony A80J

Yes sir. The 15k budget is the max budget for NMT alone, excluding hdd. The best PQ at 3D sya.
