Dead/Stuck Pixel on my Sony LCD
« on: Dec 09, 2012 at 09:25 PM »
Guys help. I bought it last Nov. 30 lang (46BX450). Pag black yung color nung screen parang may tuldok na kulay red na nagaappear. Naexperience niyo na ba to? Help. Nakakadistract na e,..:(

Check with your seller what their policy is on dead pixels... Some dealers will replace unit if there are 5 or more dead pixels...

But if you only have 1,  I guess you'd have to negotiate with your dealer for a replacement...

IINM, there's a dead pixel tester (series of solid colors to help spot a dead pixel).
Did you conduct this first?

A red dot is certainly distracting in a black/dark scene.

Did SNS agree to replace your panel since it's only less than 30 days?

nangyari din sakin yan pero speakers naman ang sira and less than 30 days since the tv was purchased. nagpickup sakin yung sony mismo and in less than a week pinalitan yung tv (for pickup sa store where i bought the tv)

I asked Western kung puwede ireplace since wala pa ngang 1 month yung tv. Sony service center daw magdedecide kung irereplace or aayusin lang..

buti naman at kahit papaano mabilis. i think the recommendation or replacement will come from that tech that will be sent out to check it. kausapin mo na lang at sabihin mo mas preferred mo na mapalitan na lang ng bago.

let us now what happens ok?

tancha ko di irereplace yan. :D may policy mga tv manufacturers na at least 3 deadpixels bago ireplace yung set. if 1 or 2 dead pixels lang, you're stuck with your tv. :D

8 dead pixels pa nga minsan ang nasa policy bago ireplace. they will say na a limited number of dead pixels are common in LCD... so on so forth.

BTW hindi yan dead pixel kung red. Stuck pixel yan.

A dead pixel is dead because it won't light up.

A stuck pixel is stuck at particular colors, in your case, red.

Pinakamahirap gamutin ay white stuck pixel.

baka makuha sa masahe. try mo irub in circular motion gently using a microfiber cloth

or

you can flash your screen with solid colors fast to try to force the pixel to display other colors, pero chances are maayos man bumabalik din later.

I had the same experience with Samsung, pero hindi TV, kundi LED Monitor. No questions asked. Vinerify lang ng tech nila kung meron nga, and true enough so outright. :)

if there is such policy then dapat before purchase they show you and read to you or make you aware then may signed agreement that you understand that they have such policy otherwise parang outright na panlilinlang sa customer yun.

I agree with you all the way.

BTW here's what's in the manual of a psp:

"Red, blue, or green spots (bright spots) or black spots (dark spots) may appear in certain locations on the LCD screen. The appearance of such spots is a NORMAL OCCURRENCE associated with LCD screens and NOT A SIGN OF MALFUNCTION. LCD screens are made using highly precise technology. However, a very small number of dark pixels or continuously lit pixels exist on each screen." (emphasis added)

I agree. I have a Panny Plasma with a couple of dead pixels. I believe Panasonic sets upto 9 faulty pixels (6 near the edges and 3 in the middle) as within tolerance.

Thanks for posting sir.

Very helpful yan dito kasi gusto naming malaman kung ano nga ba ang quality after sales service ng iba-ibang brands.

Congrats on getting it replaced! Kudos na rin to sony for the great after sales service.
Suggest na kilatisin mo nang maiigi yung bagong unit so that you wont have to go through the same experience. bring your own material if you need to.
