tube life will not be affected by this setup.

this method (which is the only option) could be prone to impedance matching. so you have to find out if full volume on the preamp is better sounding compared to full volume on the amp.

the output impedance of the preamp is 2.5Kohms.

here are the specs of the amp and receiver i will use it with. san ko dapat i-match?

HK Receiver: Input sensitivity/Impedance: Linear (high level) 200mV/47kohms

Fase amp PF30: cant remember the specs, but it would be similar to those of your PF45

I wanna buy this wiredstate amp to connect to my receiver, I would like use a separate amp for audio, but the problem is I dunno how to do it

how will I connect the amp to my receiver?

what about the speakers, will they still stay connected to the receiver or do I have to transfer to the amp if I wanna use the amp?

you do not need to connect your amp to your receiver. the connections will be:

cd player -to- pre-amp -to- amp -to- speakers

yes you will have to disconnect your speakers from your receiver and connect it to your amp

2. hook-up WS preamp to receiver..., listen, evaluate

3. listen to same system but using preamp + japanese 2a3 amp

break; transfer venue to my listening room upstairs...

4. listen to consonance tube cd player - > ws preamp -> 300b SET amp -> brines fostex speakers

5. try out ws preamp-receiver driving the brines-fostex, then use either sonus faber concerto or the spendor s3/5

6. try out other amps - eico monoblocks, dynaco, 45 SET amps if desired

naku sir sayang hindi ako makakapunta... ang gaganda ng gears!!  i'm especially curious about that beautiful black piano finish tower speaker with the tiny woofer in the middle.  if thats what i think it is (ike's legendary voigt??), oohh man... i read at wiredstate that it can go really loooow, as in lower than most subs can handle.

yes, that's the legendary "ike's voigt" and only the second one in the world...the first one of course is the original with ike (of wiredstate.com).  only two units have the now extinct and super rare RS 40-1354 drivers...they are only 5-1/4" drivers but sound like a full blown speaker system in the voigts.  the voigts go as low as 10hz as measured...

don't worry, you will have another chance to listen to them one of these days!
