Order of hierarchy-
AU111 – Hard to put into words. You just have to listen to it.
Also, if all the other succeeding Sansui designs were using this as their benchmark, I guess this is just a testament to the greatness of the amp.
AU 20000 and AU9500 – this is really a toss-up. While the 9500 may have a slight edge in warmth, the AU20000 has that delicacy that even the AU111 can’t capture.
But I’m hedging my bets between these two for the meantime. Am having the AU20000 rechecked and when it’s done, it just might slip to solo slot number 2.
Alpha907 - I have listened to the alpha907 numerous times and it does have that ‘hi end’ sonic character. Great highs, beautiful mids, and awesome lows. Personally, I find the midbass a tad lean for my tastes. But this is an unfair comment since I don’t personally own an Alpha907 to directly compare it with the rest here at home.
Too many variables when listening to the 907in other set ups.
But wait!. . . I just got a Sansui Eight a few months ago. Pucha! Ang ganda!
Am too busy lang now to make a serious review but I wont be surprised if this baby shoots up to number two just breathing down the neck of the 111.
