Guy's I'm interested on upgrading my 55" into 65" or 70" Screen. However, I'm still waiting until they reach the best price deal with them (I remember I bought my first 32" LCD for Php 75K way back then when they saw my TV as Giant ). I'm opening this thread for the Price watch. Anybody knows the best Price of them right now? Thank you for any reply.

Last May, my officemate was able to get a 60" Sony R550a for P118,000. It included a PS3 as a bundle with 1 game, 2 Blu-ray movies.

60" in US, around 2,000 to 2,500 for the top model na yata no. yung top model yata ng Sony na 55" around 140k or more pa yata.

Depende sa brand Sharp top model for 60 inch  at $3k and midend at $2200 70 inch top model at $4k and midend at $3500.

Sony 60" KDL-60R550 is relatively the same price as posted above (what amazed me eh yung extended warranty for this Sony is 20k + for additional 1 year  (Game is GT5 Movies MIB III 3D + Amazing Spiderman 3D)

Sharp 60" 2D LED LC60LE631 @ 78k (for those who do not want 3D)

kung 1 yr lang siguro original warranty pwede magextended for another year. last time bumili ako ng sony 2 yrs na rin yung warranty so hindi na ako nagpaextend

BTW, a little OT, re: Sony, anyone knows why it still doesn't support MKV codecs on its media player? (even the PS3)

Would that be their reason? Coz there are low quality rips in mp4 format din naman kasi.

Just wondering lang talaga kasi I tried an HD rip of Game of Thrones and the Sony tv froze. Had to be unplugged pa to make it work again. If they had that kind of logic, they shouldn't have put a media player to play videos altogether na lang siguro. Photo viewer na lang and music player. I tried searching google kung ano reason ng Sony but didn't find an explanation kasi.

yup wala dun sa specs yung MKV na playable. don't know the reason why din. but puwede daw ito mag video stream. siguro gusto ng Sony sa original source lang ang puwede gamitin. not sure though

So far prices of 65" up still on 6 figures. Everything is on the right timing, cost of this sizes in US are really cheap, probably it will be reflected here at PI market price soon. Patience...once 4K invade the market 1080P monitors will really hit it's floor price.

nice thread chief!  bookmarking too for my future panel need.  the HT panel i have is a 50'' Panasonic HD ready (only) plasma, it's colors though are still better than the full HD LED panels i bought for the bedrooms.

but am also itching to go for a bigger one!  and yes 65" to 70" would be a dream to have!

Good thread. I'm sure there's a market for these huge TV, given its all-in-one unlike projector HT setup + AVR + speakers.

A projector requires a more proper room and lots of priceless inconvenience.  How is it cheaper as a package?  hehehe

How much are you guys expecting a 65 to 70 to go down anyways?  5 figures in Manila is unrealistic for the next 3 years at least - I think.  Unless they dump the crappy stuff, or unless gumawa ang China brands ng ganon size.  4K?  Kasisimula lang non this year.

And PJ set-up these days are becoming price competitive compared to large screen TVs. Yung Acer nga at around 50K meron ka na plus 10K for the screen and you are good to go. There are quirks though for a PJ set-up that you have to consider but a little planning and compromise could get the sweet spot.

Mura pero hundi basta puwede ang PJ sa kung san san lang di gaya ng TV PJ need a dark location so you can enjoy it.
