Depends on the durability of TVs. Mine conk out after 5 years.
Agree on the brightness benefits, but is this all they can give? I am thinking they are upgrading the brightness piecemeal, so that customers can upgrade yearly.
Maybe LG will have DTS now, the one they PR a few months ago.
I've observed that TVs with AVRs do better than those without. So cross my finger than my 2016 B6 will remain operational another 3 more years or even until 2036.
There are other improvements of newer OLED TVs like HDMI 2.1a, VVR for game consoles like PS5 & Xbox Series X, improved TV OS and faster SoC
I've been reading that some pirates will upgrade when the 100Mbps Ethernet port is upgradd to 1Gbps as streaming from their HTPC or NAS 4K blu-ray rips was getting bottlenecked. I only see that occurring when it becomes 8K as 100Mbps would be too slow for streaming.
I had to delete my TV's Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video app as they werent responsive. Thankfully linking my accounts was as easy as scanning the on-screen QR code to activate.
