So far Brent Jesse(audiotubes) has been a reliable source of Matches and quiet tubes for audio application.
A bit on the expensive side but if he tells me quiet and matched, they come out exactly as described.

no two tubes are exactly alike in characteristics,
that is why i do not subscribe to the notion of "matched tubes".....
afaik, no such thing with tubes, get 100 samples and you will be lucky to find a pair...
even the two sections of a tube will never match 100% they can come close but never 100%
luckily there are circuit techniques that can mitigate these effects...
so if someone sells me a matched pair, i run away.....;)

Henry Chua, of E-Gizmo, gave me a prototype of his Class D amp a couple of years back...
i added a small heatsink, gave it a split psu of +- 30 volts, at normal listening levels,
the rails are +-28, heat is lesser this way....still good after these years....

sir Tony,
na compare nyo na yung VSPS tsaka yang transistor phono stage?

I was able to compare the two SS phonostages "in my system" and I prefer the transistor phono with lower gain. In Tony's system, I preferred the VSPS because of the higher gain. In my system, the VSPS to my ears is analytical while the other one is musical. Bagay siguro sa may speakers na mataba tumunog ang VSPS. Best to audition both phonostages in your system. Bang for the buck phonostages especially sa mga nag-i-start pa lang sa vinyl.

how's this for an amplifier casing?
sent to Bell Metals for electroplating brght zinc.
then to Uni-Pacific powder coating shop for painting...
a 2.5mm aluminum L-type sub-chassis will hold all the heavy components...
so this casing will form an outer shell....

tops and sidings will be colored matte black(?)....powder coated of course...

with lfting handles to be installed....

nabigyan mo ako sir tony ng idea diyan. I still have a lian li and micro ATX casing all aluminum lying around in the attic. might as well use them for my diy amp projects, I don't have any plans for now to assemble new desktop pc as I already have a laptop provided by the company.

Ilang watts pala balak nyong gawin doon sa last dny40w kit na kinuha nyo? 100watts ba?

got some 1 3/4 x 4 inches bobbins fron Edrel....
computation sheet:

winding primary:

the primary coil had some space left over, so i decided to make use of the space
for an electrostatic shield, pigtails connect to one end of the #32 wire,
one of the pigtails will be in touch with the cores at build up and another to chassis ground...
do not ask me how many turns, i did not even bother to count, just filled up space as far
as we can go....

finished and taped up.....filamentary tapes are available at national bookstore...
