I will post when the HT room & audio area is ready for visitors.

Wow! Very very nice and so so relaxing! Congrats! You even have a dedicated laundry room.  ;D You wife must really really love you that much.  ;) This really is a must see location in Cebu.

Make sure you use thick gypsum boards for ceiling. Or maybe MDF is another very good option. There are laminated MDFs here in Manila.

Yeah. Mine is. I have dark brown fabric for walls and decided to use gray cloth for covering the ceiling treatment.

Thanks Nelson, looking forward to the relaxing part. I think the helper will be the one appreciating the laundry room  ;D
Visitors will be welcome.
Walls & ceiling will be 2" gap, 4" stud with fiberglass or Rockwool insulation covered with marine plywood, Green Glue then Gypsum board. The ceiling is 150mm thick & the walls 150mm blocks + 25mm plaster so plenty of mass.
I really want to cover the walls in fabric but I've decided to just paint for the time being till I am happy with the acoustic treatment then fabric covering will be the 1st early upgrade. It may also include columns to enhance the decor, maybe surrounds inside the columns ? At this moment in time the Audio & video is more important then the decor, the one thing it's not going to be is a $100,000 HT room.  :'(

Obr, we are now incorporating the karaoke part in ht esp if the room is well treated. Aside from containing the happiness aka noise inside the room, it also helps improve the voice quality hehe. Also karaoke in the big screen is awesome same as in gaming experience hehe.

Ricky, I have an admission to make, At Xmas I bought a Karaoke mixer amp, speakers & a cheap DVD player (already had a 32" Samsung free with our fridge/freezer). We had the wife's family over from Mindanao so they had a whale of a time. When the house is built it will be the BBQ sound system.

Looking good. Looks like the shape is audio correct. This is an exciting build. Can't wait to see how the power and audio cables will be laid out.

Hi Gino,
Just discussing the possibilities with my electrician now. Behind the left hand wall will be a control room for service entrance power, 4 panel boards, 2 AVR's, 3 surge suppressors & CCTV.
Getting a little excited myself as I can at last see an end to the project.

Yes things are happening quickly now & I'm spending a lot more time on site. As soon as we pour the HT room floor the insulated panels will be fitted to the front & then we can start the HT build proper.

Thanks John, I am happy with the progress. The HT room is a separate project to the house so paying for that on a daily basis.

Hi toys4geeks,
They sure look like outlet provisions from a distance, the quick answer is no. We still have some of the wooden scaffolding members protruding through the walls. The other side of the front wall still has scaffolding being used by the guys fabricating the lower ground floor roof.

Hi Weng,
I'm starting to imagine all sorts of things now especially as my container arrived in port this evening. We think it may be released on Friday so busy busy over the weekend. The ground rod arrives tomorrow so the floor should be poured by the end of work tomorrow night. We'll then be able to start on the stud wall next week.
