Good trick with the stuffed toys. However, the form doesn't matter. Cats will not climb uprights with 45 degrees or more overhang. I have 4 cats.

The strange thing it was only my tom cat that liked sitting on the speakers. On the fronts I used to put soap powder boxes that also deterred him. When we move in I'll have to assess the pet situation, I'm a bit of a cat man.

With your new dedicated room, you'll have the option of not letting your cat inside, assuming the cat won't bug you when you're inside, just like my dog who keeps on scratching the door.

If the 85" Panny has any problems I shall seriously look at PJ's. As Pioneer & Panasonic are no longer in the Plasma market I don't think any of the other manufacturers come close to them. Saying that I don't know yet whether my screen survived the journey from the UK so I could be looking at a PJ sooner than expected

With your new dedicated room, you'll have the option of not letting your cat inside, assuming the cat won't bug you when you're inside, just like my dog who keeps on scratching the door.

One thing will be for certain Nelson, no pets in the HT room. There will be 2 solid core doors so I don't think I'd hear the scratching. The good thing about a dedicated room, the environment can be controlled better than a multi function room.

Growing up, my cats ripped a cheap canvass cabinet which they used as a scratching post and as a hammock.

I have 3 boys and a mom (she is "fixed"). When two older ones started fighting, I "fixed" one. No more fighting. Now the younger one is getting into fights. Soon one of them will be fixed too.

A New year's toy horn is great with breaking up fights. These cardboard horns work every time. Works on people too.

Next step to assess thaf it doesn't perform well anymore better a PJ upgrade and sell the 85" plasma cheap.  I'll be expecting a P15k 85" plasma in the Marketplace soon!

Gino I was very fortunate with my last 2 cats, they seemed to respect the house & I never had a problem with them but my 1st 2 cats were a different proposition. I was given a 1M monitor lizard 3 months ago which I had to set free because it was injuring itself trying to escape. It now scratches the door when it is hungry, I will catch it again & transfer it to a proper cage when we move into the house.

Doc, it seems a few people are getting on the band wagon. A P2.3M screen for P15K. I don't think so but nice try  .

Thanks DTNS for some sensible input  . I would probably go down the JVC route but would have to audition first. Don't know how easy that would be here in Cebu.

Yes Louie it is a shame that we live on different islands but maybe something can be sorted out one day. I'm also getting excited but no work on the project from midday yesterday till tomorrow morning. We're waiting for polythene sheet to be delivered, there will be a polythene lining before the sand is added to the stage & seat riser.

EB's are not a problem sovrain but I can't see the auction happening
