i would love to go there and audition the room when its done.thanks for keeping us posted every step of the way.

Thanks Chain Reactor, when the the HT room is completed & fully set up PDVD members will be welcome to audition. I hope my postings will be of help to forum members if they choose to go down the same route or even part of it. The good thing is I'll be able to tell every one what I did wrong & what is necessary to put it right.

That's because you let him have a weekend off without you serving ice cold pale pilsen.  ;)

Nelson, I wish that was the reason - easily remedied. He's using a 40 gallon drum to stand on & I've witnessed him falling off once, I don't want to be responsible for him breaking his neck. Seriously he & his crew have been working hard preparing the rest of the house for painting so I don't begrudge him a weekend off   ;D.

You are lucky that you were able to get the services of such passionate builders, you guys compliment each other. I'm sure once its ready youll invite them to see a great
Movie as reward for their hard work. ExpendableS marathon is in order hehehe

Hi ricky, yes I have been  a bit fortunate as they are also very accommodating. It was my intention to treat them, I have a few candidates for a marathon view  ;D

Seat riser complete except for step covering. My fault, I've forgotten the width of my seats & need to check there is enough clearance to fit a nosing on the sides of the steps. A job for Monday.

Trial patch of the prospective final wall colour.

Thanx mbtorn, took me quite a long time to decide on trying the deep red but spending most of yesterday looking at it I'm pleased to say the colour has grown on me  :)

Good to see the primary seats aren't on the riser. You have the liberty to move them for that sweet spot. Bass on the rear seats near the wall might sound deeper but hollow during my personal tests.

looking good sir.. not really a fan of the ceiling fan and it might give you a problem when you go PJ route. Since the walls are painted i assume you will also put acoustic panels?

Hi Gino, yes primary seats on the ground floor which gives room for adjustment. As this is my 1st proper HT room it's a case of learning by experience. I'm about to find out about bass problems soon - maybe  :)

Thanx Photonyo, The ceiling fan was a case of do I or don't I, I decided to install it as it's a simple exercise to remove. There is an air con. unit but as they are not used in residential houses in the UK I wasn't sure of the noise implications so decided to fit both. Yes I will be fitting acoustic panels after the paintwork has been done   :)

It's classier than a stand fan. I listen best with the ac off. But for non critical sessions and movies, the ac is on. It's a good way to move air to prevent mould.

Your right Gino, I also have the problem of having lived in a lot colder climate all my life. I think I'm acclimatising quite well but it remains to be seen when viewing with all the gears on   :).
