Tony, this is just right for the MA drivers and probably would provide ample headroom to make it sing beautifully.

yup this is a 10 watter per channel, triode connected EL34's, here power is not the goal....
but mind you, this 10wpc amp pulls in 180 watts from meralco....
i tried using ss rectifiers hoping to lower the consumption, bu it actually rose to 200 watts...

Sir Tony, i'm also contemplating on the appropriate rectifier to use for my build & concerned about the heat produced by a rectifier tube, will using an ss rectifier lessen the heat significantly? what are the advantages of using tube rectifiers? TIA!

My burn-in is now at the 70+ hours mark .....

Though I am using a gainclone amp at 150w per channel, I set the volume at the lowest level so as not to stress the drivers.  While maintaining the low volume setting I was able to hear the sound improvement as time went by. At around 40 hours you will hear the bass becoming fuller.  Now all frequencies are starting to stabilize towards a balanced sound.  Am just amazed on how this little drivers produce bass with the pensil enclosure.

Parang nagsisisi nga ako that I went to dual drivers, for the fear that I may not have sufficient SPL to fill my room.  But just the same, with only 2 drivers being broken-in, at 70+hours, the room is already filled. And at the moment I can't change na cause the boxes are already made for dual drivers.

glad to hear you're happy with the sq...

go Alpair 10.3/10P or 7.3 is the answer sir Joey  ;)

Based on your readings ...... Is the Alpair 10.3/10P have comaprable mids and highs with the Alpair 7.3?
I know that the Alpair 10.3/10P has better bas due to its size, but what I am after is the best quality for mids and highs.....

tube rectifiers add heat to an amp, but if that is a concern, we can replace it with SS rects...
this is a SS rect i made that can sub a 5U4 type tube rect...

from what i have read & from feedback of users; the 10.3 has a "livelier" highs mainly because of it's metal cone (the driver for those who love rock, big band etc) while the 10P has smoother, neutral & laid back sound overall (for those who love vocals, jazz, solo classical).

the 7.3 (metal cone) similar to 10.3 & is the go to drivers for those building a system with subs but do note that it has been out for a few years now while the 10.3 & 10P were released late last year. the 10P is slowly becoming the favorite in diyaudio.

ok. maybe i will just utilize both in my build & just put a rectifier switch to get the best of both worlds.

thanks!

45 hours burning and these little drivers amazes me already! kala ko pang jazz and mellow music lang sya...nagkamali ako he he! Hooked it up with my el34 pp power amp and 6h8 pre amp tried different genres and it rocks...crisp ang clear on the highs and you have to hear for yourself the bass it can deliver he he!!! Ano pa kaya mga surprises nito pag naka 100 hours na!

95 hours through the burn-in process .... frequencies are well balanced now, you can hear accurate bass from this little drivers, highs are smooth and extended, mids are articulate and wide.  Overall gain increased which is a sign that the drivers are freely flexing.  Sound is free flowing......

Hope to start with the next pair for the other channel.....

Mine are chr70, Joey's are chr70(A).

The "A" suffix indicates a built in arrestor in the diaphragm to limit low frequency excursions which renders the driver's power handling higher.

I see. So it is a physical part an not like typical baffle steps that employ coils, caps, and resistors?
