8.45pm - burn in starts....

100hrs of burning-in finished...
used Topping TP20-MK2 for burning-in period, vol @ 9 O'clock, after 100hrs dialed it to 12, medu bitin sa power, hooked it up to my old reliable NAD3225Pe vol @ 9 O'clock pa lang ayun busog na busog pati bass full, tight & fast.

Any special reason kung bakit naka-baligtad yung stands sa ibabaw ng pensil enclosures? nakakatakot lang baka mabagsakan yung ibang gear  ;)

congrats btw, have you tried it with the AMX tube amp? musta combination nila?thanks.

sir deist,
getting crowded na ang small listening room - wala ng mapaglagyan ;D. other reason, as a weight planning to have it later [the enclosures] filled with sand.
stable naman sir pero napaisip din ako kung bumagsak nga. thanks for pointing out sir especially baka may makasalisi na bata sa chamber ko :-[
may be another 50hrs before ko subukan sa AMX bka mabigla, 75w/ channel pa naman, minsan di ko kasi ma-kontrol ang pagpihit ng volume, especially pag favourite ang piece of music.
again, thank you sir for starting this "Thread", 4" pa lang satisfied na- i just can imagine its bigger siblings.

master tony,
parang gusto ko tuloy subukan na agad :).... kaso may susunduin pa ako. tonight na lang . thanks

Welcome sir. I just wanted to share with the community the excellent drivers of MarkAudio, i'm a big fan of bang for the buck products & MA's surely fits the bill  ;)

BTW, JoeyGS is driving his CHR70 with 150wpc gainclone monoblock amps  ;)

Kaya naman sir but I think it will depend on the size of the room, might struggle in a big environment. The bigger MA drivers (Alpair models) are more sensitive/efficient and be best paired with 2A3 SET.

The release documentation for my Alpair 10p states:

"The Alpair 10P is “purist” technical driver. Its purpose is to serve the audiophile and experimental markets. Due to the highly emittance sensitive power-train, this driver will need users to take note of the need for high quality lower power amplification and audiophile level source. The Alpair 10P should not be considered as a “general purpose” emitter.MarkAudio drivers are best paired high quality lower power amplification"

Based on my readings, most users recommend 6-20wpc class a SE amps  ;)

a lot depends din kasi sa power supply ng amps, it is the power supply that makes the difference imho.
the amp gets power from the psu, and if power is available from the psu, the camp can convert that
to ac to drive your speakers, so wattage is not so material, it is  the marriage between amps and speakers that matters...

i myself was surprised to find a mere 3 watter 2A3 can play loud in my speakers....that is why i always say, i stopped counting the watts, and started listening to music....:D

we tried the MA with a 2A3 a couple of years ago, ok naman, medyo nakakaantok lang.

it's easy powering the MAs, low to high power amps can of course be used. tube amps are very good with clipping, they're like compressors so even a spud amp can survive the MAs. though nowadays, builders tend to go over the top with they're power supplies and loose this valuable characteristic. can't blame them though, they think they're building solid state amps. I build my amps accordingly for both states have different requirements.

Yup am using the 150wpc gainclone but I don't dare raise the volume beyond 8:30 ;D

I am using this for the breakin and have set the volume to the lowest since the intended amp for this is awaiting delivery.

I have finished the 100+ hours break-in period and will fire-up the stereo set-up hopefully tonight!....stay tuned!

as long as the sound does not distort, you can raise the volume...
but of course if you are happy with the current setting, then stick with it...
a speaker seldom show signs of impending damage...
when the speaker distort, 99% of the time it is because the amplifier has run out of steam,
you will be amazed at how easy for an SS amp to lose steam....
tubes otoh soft clips so that it is not as irritating to the ears....

Done with the 100 hour break-in....... Assembled the stereo speakers for initial listening without stuffing

After doing proper room placement, initial listening tests conclude the need for internal stuffing.  Most glaring result show that the base is loose and lacks definition due to the absence of internal stuffing.

The test proceeded without the need of the subwoofers.

Seriously, seems that other than the bass concern the room is properly filled?

Sobrang sobra........ Looks like di kailangan ng dual driver to fill the room.

Yes in the process na but stuffing needs to be lined on the walls and not to fill the entire volume.

Came across full range speakers from Pearl Acoustics and was inspired by its specifications and claims to play any genre.... http://pearlacoustics.com/the-sibelius.php
