Hi. I was just using last Friday my Panasonic 42" plasma (forgot the model number) that I bought around 2007, and when I woke up the following day, it wouldn't turn on. The line conditioner that it's connected to also didn't have power, which made me think there was a surge. But when i plugged the line conditioner into another wall socket, it powered on, but the TV didn't. Tried the manual switch on the TV, but still nothing.
At first I thought that maybe it's just a fuse or simple power board/adapter that got hit. But when I asked Listening in Style (where I got it from), they said that it may be more costly to have it repaired, considering it's an old model, and the parts are hard to find, and we don't know the extent of the damage. He said that I may end up spending around 15k to have it repaired!!! I could buy another 51" plasma TV for another 15k for that price!!
So my dilemma now is, do I just get a new one (currently eyeing Samsung 51F5000 for P30,997) or still try to get the old one repaired?
Normal lang ba un nangyari sa kin given its age (7 yrs)? Thoughts? Thanks!
