Hi sir Tony, i understand but what Kit_katz is saying, changing the bias to where the Amp will sound best will lower bulb life faster than normal. So which means hindi masusunod yung life given by the manufacturers data sheet? Of course we all wanted our gear to sound at its best thats why if i maximized it and made the changes so it sounds best, ilang % ang mawawala sa given tube life ng manufaturer. Sorry but i'm a newbie at tubes...
Eto sir sabi nya sa ilalim..
i see no conflict there....kit_katz said it from a layman's point of view,
my post are technical.....true that most of the time great sound and tube life
are in opposition to each other, so it is up to you to choose....
with new production tubes, this should never be a problem since tubes will
always be available anyway...the object then becomes setting the lower
bias setting that still give you very good sound..
that said, there are other factors that contribute to tube life,
out-gassing, if you see the flash gettering in your tube fade and turn
milky white instead of of the silvery one, then you tube s at end of its life...
