Awesome. I really couldn't pick who deserved it more. I am happy for the winner.

I thought Lucas was the best equipped for the long haul having made the sturdiest shelter, a boat and a good system for gathering food.  Hell, he even has an "entertainment" system, having made his own musical instrument.  But at the end of the day, I guess it all boiled down to mental toughness and Alan sure did have a lot of it.

Great series!

Katawa yung mga comments I saw online.  Reality series are really pushing it daw, and next thing you know, Hunger Games na ang concept. :p

Lucas burned a lot of calories with unnecessary projects. Ultimately hunger messed with his mind.

Sam almost had it. Again, the cold and hunger got to his mind.

Alan with his slugs was on track again. He could have gone much longer.

Si Mitch pinagtatawanan namin dati video niya on how to cook steak on rocks. Sino in a survival mode has steaks. Yun pala he got what it takes. Galing.

 wow.half a million richer , 60 lbs lighter & 38->31 inch waistline

http://www.wetpaint.com/history-channel-alone-weight-loss-1434831/

Well, 40-year-old Alan Kay took home the big bucks after 56 days on his own. He's half a million richer and 60 pounds lighter, and, as you can see, he looked very different coming out of the woods than when he went in.

...The pounds came off thanks to a diet that consisted of a heck of a lot of seaweed. As he describes to People, he also "had mussels, crab, fish and slugs sporadically." Yummy.

..."I went from a 38-in. waist to about a 31-in. waist. And this looks strange on me, as I am 6’6," Alan told People. "Looking in a mirror for the first time after coming out of the woods was surreal; the only part of me I recognized was my eyes."

..The Georgia native also noted he didn't keep the weight off, because Alone wasn't a "healthy, slow, sustainable weight loss plan," it was a push-you-to-your-limits reality TV challenge.

I was rooting for Lucas and Alan. I was surprised Sam lasted that long.
That awkward moment when I'm drunk and you're still ugly.

I was expecting Sam to last that long if not win it. I found Lucas  too wasteful with his strength. I was surprised for Mitch. He had what it takes. I guess hunger compounded his mommy issues.

Medyo sablay kasi yung shelter ni Sam. It was in the open and the weather was getting worse. Lucas was keeping himself busy para di mabaliw but it took it's toll. Si Alan I think his shelter gave him the edge over Sam.

I agree.  I thought Lucas had the right idea of keeping himself busy.  In the end he was just too emo.  On the other hand, Sam had everything going against him, e.g. he had a bad shelter, a not so sustainable food source compared to the other 3 (of the last 4).  It all boiled down to will power I guess.

lets see how innovative these guys  by coming up with unique menus to survive based on available food source around.

That's the nature of reality tv. We have no way of knowing if it is staged. I for one think putting the men in bear and cougar country was way to risky for a show. Oh well, it was entertaining and th weight loss was real.

Sabi nga sa isang comment on FB, if this is real, this is clearly a dangerous show, and it won't be long before we have the actual "hunger games" on reality TV.

Mike is bound to win this. Man! he is close to making a cabin out there!

a week has passed and its already taking a toll to most of them. crucial talaga pag wala ng makain.

Hanep si Mike. Robinson Crusoe. Yeah hunger eventually gets them. Kahit na loneliness ang dahilan, sa tingin ko, malnutrition talaga main cause of tapping out. You just can't think straight when hungry.

^Mike is really good, but they way he keeps mentioning Barbara, makes me think he's gonna tap out due to loneliness.  Haven't seen Jose this episode, but I feel he's a strong contender.

Is Nicole the last woman standing? She seems to have a real positive outlook, I hope she lasts long.  Too bad about Mary Kate.
