Quick Question on HDMI Cable and TV RF cable
« on: Jul 25, 2015 at 07:32 PM »
Hi guys. I need to buy 1.5m or 2m HDMI cable.

Given the short distance, will there be difference in AV quality between the regular size HDMI cable vs flat HDMI cable vs thin/slim HDMI cable? I am leaning towards the thin/slim HDMI cable to reduce clutter in my TV rack.

Anyone using flat HDMI cable or thin HDMI cable already? How's the performance? TIA.

Another question, can I use this kind of thin RF cable for TV (to connect outdoor antenna)? It has the same connectors as my regular coaxial cable. The purpose again is to reduce clutter.

Based on experience which is not backed by any scientific fact, regular round cable provides me better PQ.

Edit: The regular round cables normally have those RF filters I think.

Analog bro. Setup is coaxial cable run from outdoor antenna to wall plate. Then 3 ft. coaxial cable from wall plate to TV. I want to replace the 3 ft. coaxial cable with the 3 ft. thin RF cable sana.

short lang naman yung run bro, ideally OK lang.  pero ayaw ko mag advise kasi wala akong experience dun sa manipis na RF cable.

Check cable properties. Your picture looks like antenna cable used for wifi or cell signals, and I suspect that's 50 ohm. If para audio video, use 75 ohm, normally RG59 or RG6.

Yun ang problema, hindi ko mabasa kasi Chinese ang description sa sticker..

It's says HDTV naman, so I think it's 75 ohm. Just give it as try, if you already own the cable.
