me of all that I tried, it may seem un-believable but its the WHARFDALE Dentons. I would really consider this as a "Super Bang For The Buck Little Box"! Sound is really a good pairing on whatever kind of amp you throw at it. Whether its a Vintage gear, Tube or SS it really produces a very neutral tones, Deep Lows are even capable w/c my Vienna Acoustics cant handle on SAM SMITH's Stay W/ Me at a little high on the knob. On the HIGHs sibilance is really absent w/c sometimes can be fatiguing to our ears. Even TT Guru NOLY (TAS) came to the house & saw the little devils said These Are Great Performers. Indeed they are. Just sharing an experience for a bookshelf that cost no more than P14k  ;)

Mid 90's, Acoustic Energy AE1 in Quad carpark, forgot the name of the store. My jaw dropped, i could not believe the output these little speakers were putting out. I became an instant fan of AE.  Several years later I was able to buy an Aegis 1. Had the same jaw dropping experience :)

ive done a lot of auditions but these really stands out.  pag nanalo ako sa lotto, eto una kong pagkakagastusan.  hehe.
1.  Infinity IRS.  dito ko lang nadinig ang true bass definition.  hindi mo lang maramdaman, easily distinguisable definition ng low frequencies.
2.  Vivid Giya.  tunog mayaman!  in one word- spectral balance!
3.  Devore/Naim.  my type of sound.  nothing stands out but nothings missing.  conveys the sound with the right emotions.

Yikes ang mahal naman sa speakers niyo. Harbies are good, I mean excellent but they are in another different level especially the price. The Orangutan are Superb! heard it once in a shop in NYC but a whopping price of $7k something, it must also have to do w/ the high end sources used.

I'm intrigue w/ the DeCApo Ref3A but never had the chance to hear it, who's selling it in Manila?

I've heard most of the speakers that we dream about including the Magico U3, Vox Olympian, Tidal Sunray and so on, but the most sublime experience was with Perfect 8 The Force. Sound was so relaxed and realistic.. dito ko lang masasabi na kinilabutan talaga ako. Minsan you have to verify your impression kasi baka naman na overwhelmed ka lang during the first time, which I did by listening to a smaller model made by the same company, very similar din ang listening experience.

one owner said he had other more expensive speakers on his system but this is the only speaker he was able to trick his dog to follow a "sit" command through his stereo.

If ever I reach a point in life where I could afford to put together a $1m stereo system, this will be #1 on my audition list.

Magico S7, Trodt Gm70, Lamm LL2 Deluxe, PS Audio Direct Stream, Aurender A10, Garrard 401

Most of the speakers I like kinda grow on me. After several years in the hobby searching for the Holy Grail , Here is my list in no particular order. Nothing too fancy.

1. Wharfedale dentons - just need a lot of open space and a powerful amplifier.

2. Celestion sl6 - hard to find a matching amp, nearly gave up but I found the "one" after almost a year of            .                        experimenting.

3. Dynaco A 25 - an all around performer. Easy to match and sound astonishing with marantz 2252 receiver.

from the Marantz Showroom in Makati:

1. GoldenEar Triton 7 - good
2. Martin Logan EM-ESL - better (much bigger soundstage than the Triton 7)
3. B&W 805D - best! (the Triton 7 and ML don't hold a candle vs the diamond's clarity!)

all powered by the Marantz PM-11S3 reference int amp.

PS
my personal setup is a GoldenEar Aon 3 powered by Emotiva XPA-100 power amps. I'm content with its SQ.  :)

Best speaker I've heard is harbeth 40.2 in Sounds N Images. Best harbeth if room and budget is not an issue otherwise I can already live with my SHL-5 which can also sound very good when properly tweaked.
