Rpi w/ Kodi. Small form factor.  Very good as file server. Can change OS by simply changing the microsd card.

Thanks sa suggestions so far.

Wdtv - yes kasama sa options ko
Kodi - software pala yan. Meron bang specific brand using kodi na maganda pero mura?
Minix - mukhang mahal coz of the extra features.
Rpi - sounds good but no time to tinker at the moment

Sa lazada daming murang media players pero unknown brands medyo hesitant ako coz the chinese dvd remote I recently bought is starting to malfunction after a few weeks. Meron bang good brand na less than 5k.

Thanks!

Kodi has a lot of programs for streaming-- movies, sports, tv shows, etc.

Pero you have to buy a case, SD card, Remote, Power adapter. And limited to 10/100 Mbps lang ang Ethernet nya.

http://villman.com/Product-Detail/MiniX_NEO_U1

some paid less than 5.7k pesos. Medyo may dagdag a few hundred pesos si villman

Clarify with villman why their Minix neo u1 has  cortex a53 chip instead of the Amlogic S905. It could be  typo.

but most of the people here and on the net uses a Minix neo u1 with a S905 and are happy with it.

Kodi with airplay function enabled. But wifi pala to.

Is there a particular reason why you want to use bluetooth instead through your wifi network?

If the other way around naman. You can enable upnp/dlna function sa Kodi. So you can play your music libraries sa phone mo.

Worry ko sa old models is compatibility with new codecs. Yung lg tv ko won't play newer files worry ko baka ganun mangyari if I buy an old model ng media player.

The better way would be to install DLNA app on your phone so it can share its music files over your network. The minix has pre-installed DLNA app that can access and play the files on your celfone. Alternatively you can also access DLNA via Kodi. DLNA method should give you better audio quality compared to bluetooth as well.

^ question about DLNA, bakit pixelated 'yung video from my phone? mas malinaw pa 'yung resolution ng note 4 ko playing the same file...

If you want music streaming also check your wireless network if kaya. It might buffer specially with flac files.

If you have an old PS3 you can stream your Spotify playlist in your phone to the PS3.  Controls would be in your phone.

For those who want to buy minix U1..

- Bought mine at Villman SM North Annex for only 5,750 pesos, 1 year warranty
- You have to upgrade first the firmware to it's latest before usage via OTA
- Delete the Kodi installed in it and install the latest version, since I need to passthrough ATMOS and other HD Audio, I am using SPMC as an alternate player to KODI
- Some of my Ultra HD 60fps files can't be played, I don't know if its a firmware limitation or the file itself.. Good thing about minix is the support... you'll get firmware upgrades from time to time and they listen most of the times from user's feedback and requests... so hopefully it can be resolve in the next firmware :)
- Wifi range is good... very very good, I sometimes view PDVD forum using my U1 :)
- Same as Bluetooth, very good connectivity :)
haven't tried games pa, di naman ako gamer e...
- you'll need an airmouse for ease of use like NEO A2 Lite or the likes... me, I just connected a Bluetooth mouse for the mean time..

Overall, happy with it :)

Budget wise, MXIII from Lazada basically meets your requirement. The only one lacking is the firmware updates. If you use KODI, then no problem with codecs I believe.

You should not have any problems with streaming flac files provided you have decent wifi connection. I've looked at my flac files and they are mostly below 1 Mbps data rate. Plain vanilla 802.11n is at 72Mbps. If you get an android box like the Minix you can install Spotify on it to play your playlists.

Try look at MyGica ATV-586. It's an Android Player with Digital TV (TV plus) function.

Rikomagic RKM MK80 not exactly budget at Lazada but I bought mine via taobao for about RMB 750 (equiv to Php 5,250). Exact model is MK80 plus with 4G RAM & 32GB ROM. Been using it for over 2 years now without any problems. Was able to upgrade OS about 3X also without any problems.
