Based on the series of science fiction novels by James S. A. Corey, The Expanse is set 200 years in the future, where humanity has established colonies and operations on most of the solar system. When a missing woman sets off a chain of events that could lead to war between Earth and Mars, James Holden (Steven Strait), Executive Officer of the ice hauler Canterbury, police detective Josephus Miller (Thomas Jane), and United Nations executive Chrisjen Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo), discover a vast conspiracy that threatens all humanity.
I actually enjoyed this--writing and pacing were well done, characters were compelling, and overall production was outstanding in spite of a TV show budget. Binge-watched all 10 episodes of the first season in preparation for the second season, which starts next month.
