The way I see it LA may not need an aged FA to hog its cap space for the next 2 to 3 years. It would make better sense if they wait out for Klay Thompson's free agency.
For now they just need a ton of patience in developing their core (Kuzma, Ball, Hart, Ingram). They do need to re-sign Randle as his rookie contract is up at the end of the year. They way he is playing he deserves to be re-signed (at a very realistic price of course).
At the end of this season its bye bye for Thomas. Lopez and Pope. Time to look for 1 year contracts again for the Lakers for the 18 -19 season to fill up the roster. Not a bad way to start the first 2 years under Magic's and Pelinka's tenure. They shed a ton of bad contracts and players with behavior issues and put themselves in a position to sign the best players for the next 2 to 3 years assuming they put up a competitive squad. Something that they have done already in short spurts this year.
