The 1000 lumens would be enough for a dedicated room for hometheater with very controlled ambient light (in short, very dark room).
The contrast is not high enough, unlike the DLP's. Blacks may be really be dark grays in dark scenes. Maybe not too big an issue as I see so many people watching films with wrong contrast and brightness settings anyway.
The 16:9 native is the way to go for hometheater. No upscaling or downscaling when viewing DVD. Better lumen utilization and of course 90% or so of DVD's now is 16:9. Projectors are not for TV (4:3) viewing.
The 1.5 zoom is very useful. I would use this to switch to 4:3 material by zooming so the black bars are on the sides. Same screen, same projector position.
Component inputs, must for me.
Video processor - not an issue if you have a good progressive scan DVD player with a better video processor. The one of the player can be be used.
My 2 cents worth.
