Just learned, the PELICANS will have $21M cap space if the deal is done July 6th .......... cap space drops to $16M if deal is done on the 30th.

It's the LAKERS, so the media will normally present the LAKERS-side of things ........... it turns out, there is a known incentive (additional $5M cap space) for the PELICANS to do the deal by July 6th rather than the 30th.

Max cap space is still 32.5M though. And both Kyrie and Kemba are eligible for a salary of 35-38M annually. Sure maybe a borderline all star can fit nto that 32.5M max salary. But not top tier stars and all stars.....unless they take a pay cut of about 10-22M during the duration of the 4 year contract.

Do you guys think there's also under the table deals in play? maybe Lakers already had talks with Pels that they will be the one to pay them the $4M if they just waive and wait it out til the 30th? stuff like that

Tiyak na merong collusion somehow, like players wanting to team-up (wink-wink LBJ) ............ hindi mapipigilan ang mga players na mag-kwentuhan habang offtime nila.

Ang palagay ko na non-existent ay ang mga under-the-table deals ........... the NBA cracks the whip very hard on these kinds of things.

Kung mga (tampering) statements lang ni Magic about FA's, cost the him & the LAKERS, $50K, $500K ........... paano pa kapag napatunayang may under-the-table deals.

Best example ang TIMBERWOLVES ........... they got caught with the Joe Smith fiasco. The team was fined $3.5M and voided their 1st round picks for 5-straight years. Ouch.

These are the free agents who were signed to the MLE or minimum last season. Some of these have likely increased their value and will turn down another min contract (i.e. Thomas Bryant) but some of those might bite at a minimum again (i.e. Gerald Green) especially if it's to play with Kyrie, Lebron, and AD.

Not too optimistic about the Lakers being able to convince the Pelicans to defer the AD trade to the end of July, so the Lakers will probably have to forego their aspirations of getting a top tier FA with only ~US$23M in cap space. I just hope Laker management has learned their lesson from last year's FA experiments and use the cap space to get the right complementary players. Sino pa ba represented ng Klutch Sports?

Marcus Morris, puwede. I also think Rondo should be considered since he's familiar with LBJ and AD.

But I'm excited about the LBJ-AD tandem. Bagay na bagay ang playing styles nila.
