I had the chance to deal with this govt agency when I was still working in Telecoms. They're a bunch of  idiots.
Had an experience. May nakita lang sa brochure na 450 mhz need daw permit. Pinasabi ko nd yan broadcast to air. Wired yan. No antenna. Nag okay naman. Ganun lang yan to deal with idiots. Just explain in layman's terms.

The NTC shouldn't have promised anything at all. Resource entity sila during the hearings. Kung simula pa lang sinabi nila na di pwede, e di sana iba situation ngayon.
Kaya ngayon hinahabol na sila sa promise nila. Hindi pwede change of mind ang reason. To sum up ang need mag usap para ma resolve ang issue ay congress at abs. Kaso ang dalawa wala naman sinasabi na things to do or next steps. Puro nag sisihan. Dapat ikulong yung dalawa sa isang room at hindi pwede lumabas until nagkasundo sila. Kung sisihan lang and kung ano ano ginagawa, it will not solve this problem kasi nd na address yung root cause. Franchise. Ano next step congress? Wala. Puro sisihan. Abs? Email blast, cardo and chiu socmed blast. Somebody must step up to resolve this issue.

Actually it's only the House which has to move.  ABS-CBN said they have submitted all necessary documents na raw.  If anyone it's only Cayetano who needs to start the ball rolling.  After a week and three sessions, Cayetano has not scheduled any hearing.  Nagtatago pa din kasi.

Hmm. Parang may questions pa yata that ended up in calida qw case. Eto legal kasi tax avoidance not evasion.

Relevance to the premise that the House should tackle already ABS-CBN's franchise and that Cayetano needs to start moving his behind?

If ABS-CBN is doing something illegal in paying their taxes, then it should be brought up during the House's hearings right?

They will not do it directly but indirectly.

Quarantine = Martial Law
Pres to cancel franchise of ABS CBN = Calida/Congress
China Invasion = POGO
ABS CBN to be acquired by Dennis Uy = ???

About P60 per share two years ago to about P17 per share nowadays.  Total loss of around P30 billion the last two years alone.

Yes. Dapat magka alaman na. Para matapos. Actually, what they are doing is tax avoidance. Kasi wala pa transfer pricing tax and Pinas. Sa Japan may transfer pricing tax, kaya yung ginawa ng ABS na may Big Dipper company which provides services to ABS Hungary, may transfer pricing tax. Kasi when you are dealing with subsidiary or affiliate company, Kung ano profit margin between company, same with every company transaction. ABS made use of no transfer tax law in Phils. So ABS Hungary has big income but only one person employee. ABS business partner is only Big Dipper(PEZA). Big dipper  business partners- ABS Phils and ABS Hungary.  Ang ABS Hungary malaki kita kasi maliit tax rate in Hungary. As an Example, benta ABS Probinsyano series in raw form for 100 pesos to ABS Hungary. ABS Hungary gets services of Big Dipper for digitalization, subtitling, packaging to suit other countries and pays 10 pesos to Big Dipper for the services. ABS Hungary distributes worldwide and sells for 100,000. Or maybe ABS->Big Dipper-> ABS Hungary. Whatever pays less taxes total will be the preferred route. This is tax avoidance. Time for Congress to plug this loophole.

I'VE always known it all along, the Lopezes will get what they want, when they want it. We will never win against this bloodsucker. Ayaw ko na lang itong pakaisipin - that once more, the Lopezes will never want of a motley crowd who will championed its cause - kasi may edad na ako and my heart will not be able to absorbed anymore this frustration, this despair, of finally seeing the day when this wily, ultra-rich schemers kneel down in defeat. The other day someone named Joel Pablo Salud whose career is summed up as a journalist and as a political and literary writer, wrote a "letter" to F. Sionil Jose urging the 95-year old pundit to "reconsider" his profound view on the Lopezes ("I'll not mourn the passing of ABS-CBN, the Filipinos do not really need ABS-CBN. It does not produce food or goods. It has certainly entertained millions but it did not diminish poverty. Its demise is even good for Philippine democracy if it also means the dismantling of the Lopez empire. The Lopez family is a leading member of the oligarchy—far more powerful than any of the oligarchs, then and now.") Again, the Lopez's lucky charm is working as it should, it found a sudden, unwitting defender from the literati.

I have one thing to say to this Salud, Sionil Jose due to his age, his long life and the periods he went through that were the most tumultuous and life-shattering in our sad history as a people -- can be said to have seen it all. Whatever he has spoken about the Lopezes is not a composition of a journalist or a feature writer rushing an article for its 8 pm deadline for a spreadsheet that needs to published for tomorrow's issue. What he has spoken about this very powerful and rapacious family is a distillation of decades, even almost a century, of witnessing, learning and being whispered to about their atrocious scheming, their very crimes. Salud wants to talk the venerable old man into finding some modicum of virtues, a gram of a redeeming merit, in the Lopezes. Fool! You're trying to defend the indefensible, there is no redemption for the Lopezes, it sees all non-Lopezes as peasants or as useful idiots. Remember this, Jose has practically seen it all, you have not seen what he has seen about this family, for you were born a little too late...but not too late to missed what Jose has known all along - that the Lopezes has always been and will always be: An accursed thorn in the side of this sad, oppressed nation.....

in 1972 Marcos confiscated channels 2 and 4, and gave those channels to his cronny Romualdez, they were never compensated for those channels....so that in 1986, is it a wonder that they had to be given back those channels?, lugi pa nga sila dahil channel 2 lang ang naibalik, yung channel 4 remained in the hands of the government...

the Lopezes are oligarchs, and so are the many others, some went against Marcos like the Jacintos........

the Roman catholic Church is the biggest oligarch of them all...remember that during the Spanish period they are also the powers in government......how much has the church shed, i have yet to see a study..

the Marcos Oligarchs still lord it over today, business has never been better...

digong burat's oligarchs are the Villars and the Uys are now......

what to do with oligarchs? do we decapitate their heads as Joma would like to?

Marcos stole a lot of business from those that opposed him and he created new oligarchs......that is why it puzzled/annoyed me no end to see marcos loyalists still sticking with the dictator as if they benefited, young people whose parents were probably not even born yet...what a loss...

good thing sen Sotto did not go along the plan of digong burat to allow the take over of telecoms in the bayanihan law.....had it passed, Dennis Uy could be the new owner of channel 2....

I think there is a provision in the franchise that government has the right to take over telecom facilities if needed.

The best solution would be to increase the oligarchs, so that power will not be concentrated to the chosen few. So if marami na sila, hindi na sila matawag na oligarch. old rich and new rich na.. Sa akin naman as long as you operate fairly and within the law, no problem. Ang hirap kasi sa Pinoy minsan sour graper. May kapitbahay lang na umayos ang buhay, may chismis na agad. We do not seem to be happy when others succeed. Lagi may patama. We are sad when others are happy.
