I just watched an interview of Deandre Ayton, they asked him about the big improvement in his game ... he said that he really put a lot of work after Monty Williams talked to him telling him the difference between just earning a paycheck and putting the work to earn it ... he said that eversince, he always works extra in the gym even after practice ... coaches really has a lot of influence
On the other hand...many insiders in the 76'ers organization are saying that after Simmons signed his max contract, he then stopped working hard to improve himself which manifested big time in the just recently concluded series between the 76'ers and the Hawks. He flamed out with the entire world watching. Ever since he was drafted, he knows full well that he needs to improve on his jump shot and free throws. Any player who wants to carve out a lengthy career in the NBA will work on his areas of opportunities. Simmons is totally the opposite.
In addition to that, Doc Rivers...who is not known to be good in developing talent and has a penchant to tolerate star players in his team, is a bad fit for his young superstar roster. He is just capitalizing on his past Boston Championship run which we all know was driven on and off the court by none other than Kevin Garnett. KG was the one who held everybody accountable in Boston.
a lazy player and a coach who tolerates bad habits. That is what the 76'ers fan base are looking at for the next 4 years,
