with the lower ma models. this is going to sound bright and forward.
with the higher ma models. this is going to sound bright, forward, and harsh.
ma speakers must be paired with dark/dull/laidback/polite sounding wires and gears to compensate for its nature.
inherent within ma design is brightness and forwardness.

Thanks. Very helpful. I do not like Bright sound. What is your opinion on MA with NAD?

MA with NAD might still be a bit bright for you...if you dont really like bright sound.
MA with Classe is neutral (a bit dull for me actually)
MA with Arcam is neutral
MA with BnK is still a bit bright.
MA with roksan is still a bit bright.
if you dont really like bright sound, then it wouldnt be easy to make you contented with an MA.
it is inherent in their design and it is what makes it sound very very very very good.....at least for me :) :)

and for me too allan. ;) im enjoying every minute of my RS6 with Onkyo. At one point, I used an RS1 wiht NAD 325BEE and I really liked that combination. I onced listened to a Roksan RX1 combination but I didnt liked the sound of it. Its not as lively as the RS1 or the RS6 but to many people, Im sure they would like it that way. To each his own indeed.

you have three choices, silver, gold or platinum or you may even consider the bronze series BR5

sobrang laki not only in the low frequency but over all sound quality, RX6 is way way better than BR5 at least from my end. it may be differnt from others

by design, the sonic difference should be far different. however, you may not even be able to notice this if the system that will drive them is not resolute enough to push the RX model to its full potential.
what im telling here is that you should get a price-matched speakers for the system that you will be using it for.
buying something more than enough is just a lot of waste...not only for the speakers potential, but also of your hard earned money.
so better home audition both.

Mga MA gurus, ask ko lang if anybody has experienced listening to a vintage (circa 80"s) MA r700md bs speakers. It already uses their metal dome tweeters but it's their 1st gen. version and silver pa color nung tweets. Made in UK pa with 6.5" poly woofer with inverted surrounds. Based on some web info, designed pa ata ito ni Robin Marshall of Epos 11 and 14 fame.

I actually had a short chance of listening to it and it sounds very good. It has a very buttery sound and medyo laidback but detailed. It also sounded big  for it's size. The fact is, it was only being driven by an old onkyo reciever and a hk cd player ( I think), which makes me more surprised and awed.

Do you think it's still worth buying around 7K ? Tnx

Yes go for it....It's a real steal for an original UK built MA for only 7K.  Considered a collector's item na ito. :)

.

MA with NAD would be fine, but if you want to really make your MA sing - say from Silver to Gold series....Go for MF, Exposure or Roksan, it may sound bright to others but may sound good or enough for you.  Go and audition so you will know, otherwise go for tube amp, I find MA especially the silver series doing well with EL-34 & KT88-based amp :)

Malaki....Until you listen then you will know. Let me say on a simple comparison in cars:

Both made by Toyota:

Bronze = Corolla
Silver = Camry

But still depends on what system are you going to pair with the speakers.  Kahit Silver or Gold pa yan kapag hindi matched iyong gears mo ay tatalunin yan ng Bronze with well-matched system. :)

Hi Onkyo, Tones & Colours Technologies is the sole distributor of MA products both in UAE and KSA. I bought my MA S6 speakers directly from Mr. Saher, the owner of TCT last 2005, and he gave me a 40% off from the original price.  My regret, I sold the S6 to my father-in-law because he liked the pair.
