Any review/feedback from MA BX2 owners? Are these considered bright speakers? Haven't had the chance to audition lately but I am planning to pair this with HK3490 (120W). Thanks

I have not heard any MA with HK gear, though some people seem to have successful pairings. Ask Marc if he can source the MAs, so that you can hear them with HKs.

Audioworld likes pairing MA speakers with Yamaha gear, to good success.

The BX series surprised me today. I found them a lot better than the BR series.

The BX2 had an obvious dip in the mids, but it was very listenable, pleasant and detailed. :)

hi to all!

first time ko mag post dito but have been reading a lot of threads especially this one dahil about MA. based in taiwan ako but dito ako bibili ng speakers dahil sa price difference. currently auditioning silver series. stuck between rx2 and rx6. i've auditioned several brands in taiwan like dali, MS,acoustic energy, polk audio, heco, wharfedale, focal jmlab, avanz, psb, castle, b&w, kef to name a few. but nagustuhan ko sound ng MA. bronze series lng initially kaso na audition ko silver..... and the rest is history. although yung iba syempre influenced by price din. dadalhin ko ulit misis to finalize decision. any inputs? anyway i know na its up to my ears to decide.

just wanted to say thanks to sir jason at ma'am she of audio world in banawe. very helpful and nice sila. honest suggestions with no forced opinions. genuine ang pagtulong.

jao ;D

Bro,
if you liked the sound of MA over all the rest youve listened to, i guess the choice is clear :)
of course my opinion would be biased as i myself is an MA fanatic after having been through so many others whether in audition or as my own.
goodluck, and enjoy the hobby.

should be very well be the deciding factor, che and jason have been living with the how MAs sound for the longest time and the fact that audioworld carries this and not many other brands speak for how well they believe in its sound quality,

i am using RS6 and RSLCR and is very happy with it. The only thing different about the RX series and RS is the HF side, to which i find the RX series on the warmer side already. I love dynamic sounding speaker thats why the RS suites me better but having said that, the RX series would always be a stunner in the SQ deparment, after all, its hard to find bnew RS as they have stopped prodcution already and was replaced by the RX series.

You getting either the RX2 or RX6 shoulD be a wise decision,if looks is not an issue, the RX2 has a bigger driver and can go lower than the RX6 and is cheaper than RX6, on the other hand, the RX6 has one more driver that adresses the mid range section better. There are other people who are in the opinion that RX2 does not match well with the RXLCR becasue of the difference in the size of the driver, 6.5 versus 7.5 but i dont hear anything wrong when i get to listen to this set in one of our members HT set up.

Avshop's Onkyo pair actually did well with it. The same gear didn't seem to do very well with the RX2 though (I've heard the RX2 sound quite a bit better with other components).

I just got my RX6 yesterday and I could not stop myself from listening to them. I have thrown every high quality audio samples  that I could get my hands on at them and each time, the songs, which I've listened to for almost like, forever, seem to take my breath away the moment I hear them through the RX6.

Of course, I must say, the Marantz SR 7002 has also got something to do with it. Perhaps, so are the cables and the power cord. Did I mention I was bi-amping these bad boys?

I personally do not have any idea whether there would be any difference if I went a rung down, like, not choosing to bi-amp or using generic cables, because, I fear, I could find some flaws which I could not bear to accept.

Though I was a little bit "disappointed" at first to see that the cartons say the speakers were "Made in China", the moment I heard them sing, all my prejudices vanished. I don't care if they were made in China or where else as long as they take my breath away.

I agree that, yes, they seem a little bit warm compared to the RS6 but they are nonetheless incredibly detailed. they also seem to sound too clinical or too controlled. However, further research led me to discover that it was actually the Sr7002 who was causing the absence of dynamics in the samples. Nonetheless, they are one of the best speakers I've heard in a while and I could not want for more.

I am still in the break in period so I should expect some "more" improvement in time. Though the Low end seems to be technically sufficient by sonic criteria, I feel, perhaps psychologically, that there is something lacking: that the woofers could rip if I drove them too hard. So to simply say, I must get a subwoofer!

Now the itch seems to be taking a life of its own.

I actually have several bluray discs with DTS-MA audio and I don't want to play them unless I completed the whole 5.1 system.

I hate this itch but it's actually quite satisfying if you just kept on scratching it.

i just listened to the rx2 a while ago and you are right master stagea, parang there is something missing when its paired with the onkyo a5vl and sacd, although the detail and wide soundstage are still very noticeable. hmm.. i wonder how it will sound to me if paired with the nad, marantz or the cambridge integrated amps.
