Hi, good day

I am looking for floor standers to serve as my hi-fi audio set-up and would appreciate your advise as follows:

1.  Which is better the F6600 or the F5508?  I also have noticed that you have got the 8 ohm/88db rating while the previous batch (also indicated in their website) are 4 ohms/90db.  I plan to conect these speakers to low watt tube amps and aslo to a set of Sonic impact t-amps.  Which would be better,  the 8ohm or the 4ohm sets?

2.  Are these speakers bi-wireable?

3.  What other floor standers would you recommned for audio application with a maximum budget of 25K.

4.  Would appreaciate an updated price quote for the above.

Aside from this website, you may sms me at 0918-9077165.

Regards,

JoeyGS

These are value for money speakers. I heard them at Hi-Fi Lounge, Alabang demoed with Cayin tube amp and tube cdp. They sound good in audio even if they are actually intended for HT. Good all rounder for budget HT/audio set-up. They look good too; they look more expensive than their actual price.

If I were to pick bet F6600 and the F5508, I will go for the F5508, just for a little added bass. Besides that, these two sounded they same to me.

I think they are not biwirable. The center F5500 that I bought is not biwirable. In fact the binding posts are smaller than most, and I had to really squeeze tight the 12ga wire that I used with it.

The prices in the above post are still the current prices. Just bought my center last Dec 4. These entry level speakers are real value for money.

But if you have 25K budget, and you're only intending to use it for pure audio, I believe there are other alternatives out there that you should also consider(wont mention them here since this is AC thread ;D;just visit the other speaker threads).  Just try to audition all the alternatives, so will be more definite in your final choice.

They have speakers for audio, but I think they are already beyond the 25K mark, like the Voila that I also saw at Hi-Fi Lounge.

Just to clarify; the F5508 and F6600 are bi-wirable.  The F5000C center is not.  Then again that speaker is Php 4500 and the binding posts are gold plated already (but i admit the binding posts are a little too close together).

The F-series is a versatile series that can do both HT and audio although they are made for HT in mind.  If you want to have audio speakers at near 25K price range we have the Aurum Leisure 2SV and Castle Richmond 3i.  :)  I don't think Hi Fi Lounge has them but they are available if you want to listen to them.  The Volla is Aurum's flagship bookshelf speaker and is positioned against speakers priced 200,000 and up.

Thanks for choosing an Aurum.

Just to clarify; the F5508 and F6600 are bi-wirable.  The F5000C center is not.

I stand corrected. I just assumed they would be the same since they're from the same series, just like the other brands that I once used.

Anyway, the F-series are real value for money speakers; especially for those who are like me who can only afford to have one set-up for both HT & Audio.

Do you have a subwoofer for the F-series? I'm also planning to buy a good sub which is modestly priced, just like these F-series speakers.

At the moment we Aurum doesnt have a matching sub for the f-series.  The Aurum sub we carry is the SW-10 at 30K.  However we can match you with an equally good sub.  I'll pm you my reco.  Thanks :)

I had a chance to listen to Leisure 2SE and i find it very musical and the mids and the highs are its strength.  How does it stand side by side with DALI Ikon 2? (which is also a ribbon type).  I personally own a DALI Concept 2 and i am planning to upgrade my speaker in the future.

My Setup:
Cayin CDT-15A CD player
A50T Integrated Tube Amplifier
Dali Concept 2

sir try these

No the F5000R is not bi-wirable.  Its bigger floorstander brothers F6600 and F5508 are bi-wirable.  Note the F series here in the Phil are all 8 ohms for our local preference.  Call 3955115 for questions.  Thanks

I believe it was the V2M that you heard powered by a Cayin A-50T and Cayin CD-50T player.  The staff at Shang still needs training since they are new at audio.  Hopefully we can enchance their knowledge in hi-fi soon.  If you have any questions please feel free to email us or give us a call.

I've been drooling for the leisure 2SE and finally had the chance to home audition it two months ago...look what happened!  ;D I finally decided to get my own leisure last month... :o I replaced my DALI speakers because i felt like i wasn't able to maximize the potential of my cayin cdt15a & a50t amp because they were on the brighter side (perhaps ideal for HT and not in audio). :(  I guess the general rule still applies...you have to match the price of your amp to get the most out of it..Eventhough the price of my leisure is 3x compared to my Dali, i have no regrets at all :D  I've been listening to my leisure for over a month now, it just keeps getting better and better every night and just can't wait for it to fully break in... ;D The Leisure can really sing, the mids and highs are its strengths...perfect for my listening taste (more on vocals and musical instruments).  It's hard to imagine the sounds are coming from a bookshelf and they look gorgeous and can even use its piano finish as a mirror (not only beautiful on the inside but on the outside as well)...It delivered even tighter bass when i upgrade my gears to mundorf supreme... ;)  My adventure now is CD hunting because i'm satisfied my current setup... ;D ;D

Which of your current floortanders sound closest to the Moon river?   :) I like its sound character, it's just that you are no longer selling them.

How is the aurum cantus F series compared to wharfedale 9 series? Only going to use it for HT.
