Sir Benedict,

Do you also repair center speakers?  I have an Infinity Video 1 center speaker that has not been used for a while due to damaged outer ring of the speaker.

Is your shop open on Saturdays?

TIA

Hello Benedict,

I got these old Polk audio monitor speakers from a friend. It worked perfectly when we tested it, but when I took it home ayaw na tumunog ng maayos yung isang speaker, somehow it got stuck, I did some research nabasa ko na the voice coil could be stuck, ayaw niyang gumalaw. I also read that it could result from shipping and handling. Biniyahe ko kasi sa eroplano. Babalik ba ito on it's own or kailangan nang irepair? Tried pushing the cone in a little bit pero ayaw gumalaw. Help!

sir rojody,

Possible that handling cause the magnet to moved making it disaligned.  Kailangan pong re-center yung magnet.  Will send you sms once your polk audio speaker is ok na.

Benedict

Sir zuplado,

Most common problem is iniihian nila yung amp section causing short circuit pag pinower on mo.  Problem with that is mahirap humanap ng replacement parts (IC, capacitor, etc).

Thanks,

Benedict

Hi there. My Yamaha M85 clips during high volume and I am using Polk SDA 2A speakers w/o the interconnect cable. Should I bring over the M85 & the speakers to your place for a checkup? Thanks in advance Doc.

Hi sir,

I blew my 10" sub speaker. I plugged a 110v amp to 220v. The amp is still ok but I think the speakers got burned or the spider was damaged and I seem to have lost the dust cap. How much would it cost to fix this kind of damage?

Do you still do electronics repair? I read on an earlier post that you do. I just need to change one of my RCA inputs to Preouts and change a couple of internal wirings.

Thanks.

Sir Jason,

Please bring your sub to our place for diagnosis before we can give an estimate.

Sir Lilo_improbum,

Pwedeng palitan yung cone & spider.  But when it comes to coil i think hindi pwede due to the following 1. Most sub has 4 layers of voice coil compared to 2 layers ng instrmuent speaker.  Conclusion:  Pag kinapalan ang gauge ng wire at ginawang 4 layers ang coil hindi magkakasya sa space provided for the original voice coil.  Also, please consider the magnet/motor.  Subwoofers has large magnet/motor compared to instrumental speakers.

My two cents.

Thanks,

Benedict

Question regarding Dual Voice Coil Subs. My brother has a pair of Kicker Solobaric L7's. Only one set of the terminals is working and not the other. We are newbies with these types of speakers eh.

To clarify, di ba pag individual na nakakabit ung bawat terminal, tumutunog siya? So pag hindi tumunog gamit ung kabilang terminal, sira na kaya ung voice coil nya? If ever, can you repair Square Types of Cones? TIA
