Yup

And if ever you decide to use plywood, just apply glazing putty white ot you can also use kalsomine mixed with either flat wall enamel or the more expensive satin finish enamels available at ace hardwares.

Naku dami nyo na option, mas harder to decide tuloy ;D

He can also bring it to an auto paint shop and have them spray paint the wood. I use maual roll down screens. Pero mine already had a few warps which is noticeable.

Yung creases ba ng screen mo halata pa when watching in a dark room or Kung lighted Lang yung room? Does it affect pq na ba? Try mo steam treatment pare or pwede mo Lagyan nun metal na ginagamit pang saksak ng bara.

Halata both.  :( It does affect PQ most especially on moving scenes.

I wanted to try steam treatment or hair blower dati pero i'm afraid baka lalo kong masira. I'll try the steam treatment. But wala akong steam iron etc. Any other DIY tips? Batakain ko ba sa lower part when exposing the creased part  sa steam? Or should i steam the whole screen na?

Ano yun metal pang saksak ng bara?

Kinda V-shape yun crease starting from the middle ng handle ng pull down.

Steam whole screen on a flat surface bro.

Yung metal , plehe ba tawag don? Yung manipis na flat stainless looking metal. Yung always straight sya.

Or you can remount the metal rod sa bottom of the screen. Looks like yung creases mo product of too much pulling of the screen downwards. Kahit yung sa may handle Lang tabasan mo yung screen.

Got your point. Yun spring steel na pangtanggal bara ng seweragea and pipes.  ;) Always pulled up and down yun screen.

Exactly. Dun ako nagkamali. I should have settled for fixed screen. Then may cover.

Kaya retracting ang screen ko, is because behind my screen (front wall) is absorbers and difussers. Why? Because ang back wall ko is purely difussers. Preference ko kasi ang dead front wall, and lively back wall for stereo listening.  :D Very ok siya for audio. But for movie watching, may flutter echoes ako because naka-pull down ang screen.  :( Ang best cover for screen, idea ko lang, is accordion type na absorber ang panel ng accordion.  :D

na-unsyami kasi ang pagdalaw mo.  ;)

Finally finished my DIY plywood screen.  I used 1/2" plywood (8' x 4' ) to make a 92" diagonal screen.  I painted it using flat wall enamel and roller brush.  Mabuti na lang at merong jigsaw and electric sander....makes doing it a lot easier.  First time ko na-try kanina sa Optoma HD33 PJ and video is stunning and the color really pops out!  It's much, much better than projecting it on bare wall.  Will mount it tomorrow on the wall.  This will do for now, until my fixed frame arrives

Let me see.

Let the plywood stand on its side para makita mo kung baliko o hindi.
Boysen flat wall enamel (P150)
Roller brush with paint tray for the white paint - Large (P90)
Boysen glazing putty (P160).  Only small amount was used since generally makinis naman yung nabili kong plywood.  Kung wala namang malaking uka yung plywood, you won't need this.
Metal spreader for the glazing putty (P30)
Masking tape (P40).  After painting the entire plywood white, wait for it to dry.  Pag tuyo na, put masking tape all around to delineate yung junction ng white screen at yung black border (so that when you paint the black border, di kakalat sa white part ng screen and para diretso rin yung black border).  After painting the black border, make sure to remove the masking tape BEFORE the black paint dries up.
Roller brush  with paint tray for black border - small (P40)

Other things na nagamit but didn't buy anymore since meron pa akong sobra sa house:
- black paint.  Gloss pala yung meron ako sa house.  Dapat talaga flat and not gloss para walang reflection. Will just repaint later or cover with felt paper.
- sanding paper

Useful tools which made my job easy
- jigsaw
- electric sander

Nga pala, don't be too O-C sa pagpili ng roller brush at pag paint.  I bought yung Hi-tech brand which is the cheapest na nakita ko sa Ace Hardware.  While painting the plywood, parang di masyadong even ang itsura but when it dried up, ok naman.  Kung may kaunting imperfections man, di ko siya halata when viewing from 10 feet.  In fact very happy ako sa result at naisip ko dapat ata di na ako bumili ng fixed frame  ;D

Bro Nelson pwede mo nga pala convert yang retractable mo to fix screen Kung talaga gusto mo ;D

yes. Naisip ko din yan. Ang problem ko lang, wala pa ako maisip na idea as to how to make my own accordion type (absorber filled) cover for the screen when listening to music only.

For a 92" screen, the viewing width should be 2037 mm x 1145 mm.  The 8" x 4" plywood only allowed me to use 37 mm wide border.

I just placed 3 screws dun sa area covered by the top border then covered the screws with blu tack na color black.  Maganda lang yung nabili kong plywood at flat siya unlike the others I've seen na medyo warped na.  Piliin lang ng mabuti yung plywood
