war films, no matter how great the packaging, i jaz dont like watching them - except probably for one film which i watched and enjoyed - enemy at the gates (hmm, not sure if this qualifies as a war film though

I hate getting dvds of shows that continually show on hbo/cinemax or that I have seen recently since it is just fresh in my mind.

The Matrix box set - I enjoyed the Matrix movies but not enough to make me wanna watch it again and again in the small screen.

Miss Congeniality box set - Why do they always give special DVD treatment to bad movies?

Nina: Live - I've come to hate Nina what with the incessant playing of her CD in my office. I, frankly, do not see why she's popular. Her singing voice is not that good. In fact, if you listen closely, she's not that much better if a teenybopper or a labandera sings along to her "gasgas na gasgas" na covers of popular love songs. Someone should tell her she sucks and she's popular only because Filipino are suckers for senti music.

Harry Potter, couldn't really appreciate this movie.
Spiderman, since there is always news of an upcoming sequel, there will always be a hope of a Boxset in the future.
Star Wars (individual titles), simply because i'm waiting for the complete Boxset if ever there is one.

You noticed. That's called packaging - which is one of those P's in the art of marketing. Remember that marketing is the art of creating demand. If you can create consumer demand for garbage, you can sell anything.

anyway, i refuse to get band of brothers. kahit tempted ako to buy it because of its irressistible tin case.

Good thing, you didnt bought a single one. Dude, its not the same as its R1 counterpart. The said Playboy R3/Philippines DVDs were obviously transfered from its original VHS releases.

Never touched a Batman disc. However, since I wasn't able to catch the latest Batman flick, maybe I'll make it an exception when it is released.

And like Mme. Stannum, wouldn't mind receiving the 4 Batman Titles as gifts (Batman, Batman Returns, Batman & Robin, Batman Forever)

1. there's this new release of Daredevil: Director's Cut being sold for Php900.00 (2-disc set). I was thinking of buying this one but since what I would expect to see is basically the same movie (with some extra scenes included), I thought, why waste 900 pesos?

2. Aliens vs. Predator 2-disc set. I hated the movie, so I'd be indifferent towards this home video release.

It's not the same movie, it's more than just inserting a few extra scenes unlike other cheezy director's cut title. This version is much better than the theatrical release. The movie is darker, grittier and more violent (now an R rating). Character development is better on this one. They also took out some scenes.
