Yup this is a match made in Heaven. If paired with NAD the sound will be too warm bordering on dark sound.

Rotel, Marantz or an Amx tube amp will make them sing really well.

Planning on setting up a stereo system with 685's.

I know that Rotel sweetly paired with B&W's that's why I'm considering RA06SE as the amp.

But Rotel recently released the RA-12 with DAC but not yet available locally.

Should I wait for the RA-12 or just go with the RA06SE?

Not sure about the differences but for me the amp having a built in DAC is a huge plus.

Main difference is the dac. If you have a good dac, go for the ra06se. If you don't have a dac yet, wait for the ra12.

I would take a look at Onkyo A-9050. Same stuff under the hood (material wise) but with superior built, more power, better support and cheaper. Onkyo amps are also a great match to any B&W..

Try before you buy. The 683's bottom end suffers quite a bit with the wrong amp.

I have revisited the B&W 683 FS being driven by a Rotel RB1582 Power and Rotel RC1550 Pre and source was an Onkyo CS-5VL CD/SACD player

In one word - Luscious bass and treble!

My only gripe is the midrange is too open and heightened for my taste.

Yeah Ivan is right, amp pairing is key for the 683 if you want for its sound to bloom properly.
