Hi,

Question regarding the unable to play other dvds. Were you able to play it before on another player? What was the brand? The reason I asked was it's one of my criteria for deciding which brand to buy (it shouldn't be picky on dvd media quality, if you get my meaning

). TIA.

Lahat naman ng bootleg dvds ko na "playable", i.e. no topak talaga na bootlegs, na-play ng LG ko. Yun lang, some unplayable dvds na di na kaya basahin ng lumang generic ko, I was able to play with my LG kaya OK na rin.

Hi,

Its a concert (p)dvd. I tested it with my in-laws' 2 year old Philips and it played so I went to the store to have my player tested. Unfortunately, they didnt have the same model so we tested it using another LG Model. It skipped. It played perfectly with the in-store Philips and Pioneer so I got the latter because of the optical inputs. Overall, I think LG is a capable player and that I just may have gotten an uncommon lemon. I do miss its 5.1 ch analog outs-something my new Pioneer DV 585K-s doesnt have.

Got this player last sunday! So far so good.
Na play nya yung mga heavily scratch na cds ko and some dvd-r na d ma play ng old dvd player ko.
The only thing is wala volume control and lack of display like track # ..etc.

2 things I liked w/ this player versus the budget Pioneer 380...

1. It displays long filenames in the file menu.
2. It plays packed Bitstream (PBS) xvid files...

Price is lower , but I don't know how it compares on video quality

Firmware on the player I checked is V1.37634

Just got mine this Sunday from Abensons. 4,200 ko lang sya nakuha plus 800+ for the 3 years warranty. I have a lot of movies in different DVD-Rs, to my dismay all of my movies in CDR-King's Premium DVD-R don't play well, every movie I tested using this brand hangs! Pero yung ibang media, about 7 other brands, played flawlessly. So this should serve as a warning for those who've used the Premium DVD-Rs before buying this player.

Actually tinawaran ko lang yan kaya naging 4,200, kaya lang cash payment and required ka mag-avail ng 3 years warranty. Which to me is still a good deal kasi the original price was 4,500+, so parang additional 500 lang yung warranty.

Sa Abensons Tayuman ako nakabili pero kahit saang appliance store pwede ka namang tumawad e. Para mas madali ang tawaran, since you know the haggled price, isulat mo yung model and price in a piece of paper. Tapos, pagpasok mo sa store, ilabas mo yung papel mo and look at it, make sure you have a sales person besides you. This would make them know you've done your homework, and they'd be inclined to sell it to you at the haggled price.

i also bought this unit kasi impressed ako sa reviews na nabasa ko dito and at last i finally tested the item and now agrees to the features it ha.

i got my unit from abenson's ever ortigas at 4300plus (cash) and additional 890 for the 3yr warranty.

looks elegant because of its black front face/panel..

sino na nakatry ng Extended Warranty na yan ng Abenson's?not just for dvd players but for any appliance they sell...will they replace the defective appliance if covered by the extended warranty pa?or just service it free?

I think nagamit ko na yung extended warranty ng Abenson sa Sony handycam ko before. They honored it naman, coz I never got to pay anything for the service or anything.

Me too, nung bumili ako ng unang DVD player na philips nasira after a year since covered pa ng extended warranty yung unit. Certified by their authorized service center na sira na yung unit then dinala ko sa Abenson unfortunately phase out na yung model ng player ko kanya they gave me a the latest model with the promo free dvd and no cash out hehehehehhehe

after reading posts from this site and marinig recommendations ng mga friends ko, nagpa reserved na ako ng 1 unit kagabi... I'm excited na to pick up the unit... I bought mine at Abenson St. Francis sa may Julia Vargas.

Question:
I was planning to download some movies at DivX.com to test the player pagka kuha ko mamya, in some pages, meron options whether "DivX High Definition" or "DivX Home Theater".. ano difference nila? Can LG play both formats?

This one may sound stupid pero ask ko na rin

kailangan bang sa DvD nkasave ung mga DivX movies o pwede rin kahit sa CD lang?

PLEASE HELP!!!

I got this new player yesterday and hooked it to an old progressive capable Toshiba (surplus) the video is great for what it's worth but there are very annoying FLICKERS in high speed scenes(finding Nemo). What the hell causes it? Is it the TV or the DVD player.

I used a good set of component cables from ACE and except for those Flickers ok na sana yung DVD player.

Are flickers caused by the DVD player, because if they are I will try to replace this unit ASAP and get a Philips or a Pioneer instead.

Help me!

I dont think its the component cable at all. Try to use your DVD player in someone else's TV. If it does not occur, then it might be the reason why the TV became a surplus.

If it still happens with someone else's prog scan TV, then bring your DVD player to the nearest LG service center.

Try mo sa Abenson's sa Riverbanks, dun ko nabili yung unit ko nung October 29 (last Saturday).

thanks for the help... fortunately, I got one sa Abensons sa WaterMart sa Pasong Tamo (in front of Don Bosco Makati)... 5.1K with 1-year extended warranty (bale two 2-years ang warranty niya)

I was looking at this player a while ago in a display rack. I did not bother to ask but does it have an LCD display? I dont like DVD player with no LCD player because I cant see what is the status of the player.
