sa maraming pga kakataon masarap ang may mamahaling gamit pero ang mas masarap, murang gamit na may mamahaling performance, yun ang BABY G, baby ang presyo pero giant ang performance.

pwede na rin ba akong makisali dito? congrats sir Jojo on your marvelous and very recommended creations. unfortunately, I have little knowledge regarding tubes, but from Fr. Jim and Tirso's recommendations I am very interested in having one for myself. problema ko lang, hindi ko alam kung ano kailangan ko  :'(. but after hearing Fr. Jim's set-up with your tubes, I am a believer... please help me find what I need... so far I have only a NAD C 355BEE and an incoming rotel cdp and a pair of B&W CDM1 to drive. I am not in a hurry, two months from now should be perfect for me at the moment...

sir timber, ask master jojo about his hybrid gainclone tube integrated amp. its tube pre-amp and ss amp. you get both the tube sounding but ss power to easily drive any speaker you pair it with. i got one. GALENG!

compare mo nalang sir. same thing with the baby g, its a an integrated ss amp like the nad. so you will have to choose din. if you go dedicated tube pre-amp like master jojo's aikido, you will need a power amp to pair with it. you will have to ask master if you can still use the nad with his aikido.

i was lucky when i was scouting an amp for my audio, i have no existing set-up. i want a budget friendly entry into the tube world. master jojo showed me the hybrid, and i loved it. i was about to pull the trigger with those local tube set amps, nothing wrong with those amps but the hybrid tube amp of master jojo was exactly what i was looking for then, budget wise, sq wise and power wise also (based on my music preference).

btw, i also heard master's aikido paired with a harman power amp with monitor rs1 paired with it. one of the best sound i have heard.

sir sonny! pwedeng pwede po! thanks and likewise I'm hands down on your wood working skills, galing ng mga projects mo sir. I once worked with wood and I liked it, but it seems the wood doesn't like me. 

anyway, the 355 has a main in socket at the back, so you can probably use it as a power amp and be driven by a tube preamp.



knowing the NAD sound signature, I suggest you set it up first, then have a feel for what you have then let's see if you still need tubes in your system.

I still have not known any woman who doesn't approve of tubes. It seems WAF is easily attained with tubes rather than ss.

jo nag laro lang ang malilikot kung isip, yung ONkyo ko eh may pre out, ano ba ang pwedeng gawin dun para malagyan ng tube pre amp hehehehehe

brader, kung may Main-in pwede gawan ng auto switch yun fronts mo para pag OFF yun tube preamp naka HT mode and pag power ON mo naman ng tube preamp automatic na mag Music mode. 

hindi siya conventional, pero hindi din impossible...

thank you for the replies sir Jojo, iinas, Cal and bro. Pip, it was fr. Jim's set-up that got me raving about having one, sq is beyond me. that was the very first time I heard music as it should be. I have heard tubes before, but not like fr. Jim's it was two notches higher maybe even more and he recommends you highly sir Jojo.
sige po, will try the baby G first and keep one eye here for me to learn more. Tirso gave me a short lesson last night and it was good learning. I am still confused about lots of things but one thing I am sure of is I love the SQ it produces and I have to have one someday...

Welcome to the audio world, timber.  Starting with the BabyG would be your most wise decision in starting with audio.  Since BabyG is an integrated amplfier maybe (JojoD attention please) JojoD can make it with a "main-in" port so that in the future when you would want to try a separate preamp (like Lightspeed, Aikido, etc. - also from JojoD)  then your BabyG will be "future proof" in such a way that you will be using your BabyG as a Poweramp.

Good luck in your audio journey.

Thank you sir Joey, I have been shying away from tubes since I have started due to a bad recommendation by a friend, he cited things why I should not go into tubes. but from my personal experience, it seems to be in my path that I have to cross for me to be happy with my own equipments. I love good things, doesn't have to be branded (though sometimes better for resale when I decide to upgrade) for my tools and my set-up should be no different. JojoD's works speak for themselves,hardly do you find his work in the marketplace due to the fact that people who own them, loves them. and if you do find one, it often means that that person is upgrading to another one of his work, and that says a lot about his products...

In my opinion....you can get a balance of tube and SS without the burden of tubes for your amplification. 

You can go this way and still get that tube sound:  Aikido tube preamp + SS poweramp (can be BabyG  or Gainclone build) ----- I am a fan of hybrid amplification where I use tube for preamp and SS for power amplifier.

But.....I tell you...the Lightspeed + SS poweramp is one hell of a combo.

It would be good if you can audition both combination and find out which one you prefer.  It's your ears who should decide.

when we were at Jojo's place, we listened to the following combos. my personal ratings included

1. CJ with LS - the best best best

2. ASL with LS - the best best

3. Baby G - the best

im curious if Baby G can combine with LS and how would it sound
