Jojo, Turbo Killer declined the frame. Most suppliers i've been to stalled with the quote. I kept getting the "Filipino No" answer. That's them making you believe they will do it but really will not. I'm guessing it's not big enough for which to spend time. What I find interesting is all of them just couldn't say no outright. It is always "I'll call with a quote." Then days pass and no call. People should just say no when they don't want it. At least the customer is not hoping and can look elsewhere.
I guess I have to go down and dirty and deal will small shops that cannot read a ruler and a protractor. Oh well.
So sorry to hear that Gino. I recommended him because I thought he is into metal fabrication. I don't agree on it's not big enough project, posting the finished product at pinoyps (or even here!) would yield a lot of interest, I guess they just don't see it that way.
Anyway, I've been thinking of those shops that builds bench press and other exercise machines, those also uses the same channels that you showed me. Another possible alternative is the metal fabrication where we ordered the steel butterfly window frames for our apartments, I bet they can weld those channels in a jiffy. They are located along MacArthur highway near SM Valenzuela. It is Chinese owned - walang arte, business is business. Among the cheapest I found too, spot welds are ok, besides, you can always complain if you don't like the welded joint.
Stronghold and Stronghand are huge warehouse here that sells steel channels, they sell new 20 feet sizes and also a per foot or per kilo scrap kind of selling. It is only approximately 300m away from the metal fabrication shop and is directly in front of the "dambana" of Fatima Church. You can source your steel requirements there.
Just in case you are familiar with these places, it's a good chance they'll make your design. If it will help, I can post wikimapia coordinates.
