This has been my daily warmer for the past few days...

Still on my passive pre but soon will try on my Aikido tube preamp... been left playing all night long for a couple of days, no overheating and no red plates.

Nope, it's a compensated passive preamp, no power connection. It was hastily done because I needed something to test the monoblocks, as you can see it still needs some footing.

Yes it is but with a bit of corrective filters to compensate for the lost frequencies at very low volume levels. Still, insertion loss is very similar to the precision fidelity. It's like having an active preamp but without the gain and no power requirement.

Sure why not. Or better yet, once I get my Aikido up again and finish the passive pre's footings then I can lend it to you for system test on your friend's setup.

Finally got some time to work on my Betsy and Raul project... Betsy is one of my old winding machine and Raul is a salvaged motor from a cordless drill...

Put some labels so I don't get confused...

No more sore biceps...

Also made a foot switch out of scrap pallet wood. It's a poor man's approach but somewhat elegant and custom fit for my foot.

I almost used a pair of nails/screws as contact points when I saw this extra limit switch from my cnc project...

Will practice some hands-free winding soon...
