Pwede pa naman siguro, there are other ways naman via software to force data out. Yan kasi procedure na ganyan yun ginagawa that's posted on the net, although it's one way to do it of course.

I haven't tried solid wood. Ang prep ko is Boysen sanding sealer on plywood. I guess ply has all sorts of contaminants.

Brader, madami ang naghihintay kaya tuloy tuloy ang build. Btw, baka early January ang field trip diyan sa St Rose ha... kitakits tayo... :)

Nope, different sila. Up to now I'm still playing with different implementations. Believe it or not, same chip - different implementation sounds different. I do follow the same baseline starting with the very first Baby G.

I guess tricky talaga when using stains with local plywood, nangyari na rin sa akin. Sa solid wood basta good preparation even naman from my experience.

You mean you seal first before you stain?

Ako kasi oil stain > sealer > poly... with lots of sanding in between. Baka kaya di nagpapantay yun stain mo bro?

Honestly, I haven't tried those one-step stain & finish.

I agree with this, my observation is no two plywood are the same even from the same batch. Nagkakahalo-halo na siguro yun mga ply during the process.

Brader, naka-gamit ka na ba ng HDAM opamp? what can you say about it?

Listening ang recreational field trip brader, para madinig ko na ulit ang setup ni brader Joey. :)

Oh yes, HDAM is nothing more than a reverse-engineered opamp brader. And like any other opamp, it has it's own signature sound. I have had great results in using HDAM with I/V stages of CD players, can be a good candidate for our DAC project too. ;)

Exactly the reason why I asked brader, I have read very good feedback from AK4399 DAC builders using HDAM opamps. They even said it's the best if paired with AK4399 by far & they have tried many brands & types  8)

Let us know brader kung saan ka makakabili nitong wood conditioner. Wala ako makita nyan sa ace, wilcon or home depot. So I settled with paint thinner pahid sa wood, let it dry then stain  ;D

And it's funny how Marantz markets this as a state of the art proprietary technology  :P

Local ACE shops tend to push the ACE brand brader, so they stock less stains from Boysen and Davies. I will do some window shopping after the holidays, traffic is worse than Nightmare on Elm Street! Naka scooter na ako natatrapik pa ako eh! ;D
