Do you clean your speaker cones?
« on: Aug 30, 2005 at 04:54 PM »
Is it necessary to clean the speaker cones regularly? If yes what cleaning materials or chemicals should be used?

Appreciate your feedback, thanks!

Yes I clean my speaker cones, but I only use a brush, no chemicals or cleaning detergents used (for paper cones, that is :) )

Personally, yes Sir. Pag dumikit at hirap alisin un, nagiging malutong especially ung rubber cone. just my one cent advise.  ;)
Enjoy what you have!

o ic, maalikabok pa naman sa bahay hehe so the grill/speaker cover acts as filter/protector na rin pala, tama ba? washable ba ung mga covers? baka kasi masira e hehe

Just to share my maintenance with my speakers:
Weekly: Im using clean/dry 2" paint brush to clean speaker surface including the cloth grills
Monthly: Cleaning of back side of the speakers including speaker connectors.
Wipe speakers body with "Pledge" to retain natural finish of any wood veneer surface

We need to clean our speakers religiously especially the cone because of very humid condition in our country, heavy dust stock on the cones tend to create permanent stain especially for the paper cones. Regular cleaning of the speaker grills means no need to wash them with water & mild detergent which makes them dull color in the long run.
