Just wanna know if you guys follow some routine before playing your lps? Is there any peculiar routine? Or do you just put the lp in the turntable and spin it? tnx
Hi Doc,
My routine:
1. I first clean the stylus using the "magic eraser" prior every listening session

2. With regards to LPs
2.1 I clean them (2nd Hand) upon purchase using DIY solution (20% alcohol, 80% purified/distilled water, few drops of Joy). This also depends on the seller, may seller na whose LPs I don't clean anymore since malinis na. Change also those inner sleeves na marumi na.
2.2 I clean them using an antistatic brush prior play, do not use those pranelas being sold on streets for cars, daming static fibers after rubbing on vinyls. Better to use those old "sandos".
2.3 Hold the LPs on the sides to prevent fingerprint smudges.
I suggest you browse this WS thread ... very informative.
