Hello Von, that's right. These speakers are used to be the M5 series. Iba talaga ang made in China. Prices become lower.

You are familiar with the M5 series because you own the same series. Perhaps you can listen to MV series, and post your comments here.

What surprising is Mission, a mid-level speakers, is priced comparable to budget speakers. Mission is one of the competent mid-priced speakers in the market today. If you are looking for a well performing speakers without emptying your wallet, you should consider these speakers.

oo nga sir e-reply, kamusta build quality, although they have their quality controol and all, now that it is made in china, is the sound the same as the old mission, kasi these speakers was never on my radar so to speak, but with these prices, it does not seem so far fetching afterall.

btw, are their bookshelf surrounds for the mv series?  :)

i went to shangrila kanina eager to see the new missions: the MV series looks good from the front. (backside mas maganda yung lumang m7 series).

the material used on the woofer is different from the old missions, when I heard it sing, it sounded thinner than my old m73. but of course, it is now at least 30% cheaper than before. (so take that into account)... I think its a good speaker for HT applications.

also, I was told that the higher models than the MV are better sounding. but for those who dreamt of having the old m52... this is your chance!!! ganda ng itsura.

is it true that the owner now of mission is chinese? ;D

Which amp is better paired with Mission M73 setup? the setup is going to be used purely on ht.  Im thinking of getting either Onkyo 606 or Denon 1908.

TIA

i currently use the M73i with an Onkyo 805 bro.  they've been rocking my HT world since the amp came. IMHO they match very well.

The new Mission speakers are now distributed by Apolinario & Associates who also distributes Rotel, Rega, Kef & Velodyne. Dealers are Hifi Lounge in Alabang, SGT in Makati and Sights & Sounds in Shangrila.

Heard also that Melvin Chua of DCM will once again become a dealer.

i have the ff. set-up: m73 (fronts), m7c1(center), m30i(rears).

shortly after i got the m7c1, i was told that it would have been better to get the m7c2.

i never found any m7c2 for sale. can i just upgrade my center speakers by buying one of the new models reported by E-Reply a few posts earlier? or will it produce the same soudn? or do i have to concern myself with pairing my speakers properly? kunyari, is it safe to assume that the M7-C will sound almost the same as my M7C1 so its not worth the upgrade?

I agree its better to upgrade from m7c to m7c2 center speaker, physically the volume of enclosure of m7c2 are a lot more bigger.

Since m7c2 are no longer available in the market, you may wish to consider Mission M3C2i center speaker, with freq response of 75hz to 20khz. Its sensitivity of 91db is also more easily to drive as compare with m7c2. With less power to drive the speaker system, you'll be dealing with less distortion on the sound reproduce.

mam tonedeaf,

IMHO, would agree with sir E-reply to source for an alternative higher sensitivity center speakers if the chosen path is just speaker upgrade.  am not sure though if the M7C2 can give you better sound as it is 89db compared to the available M3C2i which is 91db.

the other option you can take is via amp - the amp you use is 55wpc, the MC1i is only 87db which requires a more powerful amp to drive.  i also use an M7C1i and was ready to part with it but after changing to the onkyo 805 (130wpc), i had a change of heart.  never expected the center channel to sound better.

in any case good luck with the search...
