hi guys, i just want to ask mission owners out there kung ano ang babagay na amp for a 702e? my cousin happened to get his hands on one and we were wondering kung ano kamatch na amp para dito. we tried using a vintage luxman kaya lang medyo veiled yung highs. your suggestions would be most welcome. BTW it is a two way floorstander, to be used strictly in audio. thanks in advance.

Without the proper image, all else is background music.

Hello.  What's the difference between the M32i and the M33i? I'm torn between those two speakers and I wanted to ask you guys which will you prefer considering that it will be driven by a HK240

Thanks!

LAst time I auditioned one, it was around 20k. I heard it w/ exposure when I auditioned it. Yan, nagka M52 ako w/ in the week.  :D

@master matz

kwento lang konti. last year, i bought marantz SR-4500 and infinty primus 150 then medyo feeling ko ay may kulang sa tunog nya. compare sa mga ordinary amplifiers and speakers, mas maganda tumunog ito. pero meron talaga akong hinahanap na tunog na hindi ko maipaliwanag eh. hindi ko alam kung sa receiver ba, o sa speaker, o sa room acoustic, or kung saan pa. o baka naman lahat kailangan palitan na? :D

any idea will be appreciated nasa akin parin naman ang decision eh basta idea lang.

thanks

Zhangoku,

I believe you are looking for the midrange. LFE kasi can be handled by the sub, high freq (HF) can be achieved even by low powered HTiB's (madali lang i-power to). The critical midrange is very important in giving you a convincing immersive feel of the movie, specially w/ very demanding action scenes. The midrange eats up a lot of power.

In my experience, you wont get that in a budget receiver.  Like, come on, imagine if you are the receiver company's engineer and you are asked to design a receiver w/ a budget way under 10k (may tubo pa sila, bentahan 20k), may tuner, amp, preamp, & power for 7 channels ???

Luckily, your marantz has pre outs, so the simplest advice is to go for power amps. Its cheaper than going for the more powerful 50k-70k receivers that can provide you the midrange slam & umph.

Nagpalit na po ako ng speakers, kasi more on audio na ako. I am now using a dynaudio floorstander. Now kung alam mo kung magkano ang Dynaudio (doble ng M52) .... and masasabi ko lang ngayon eh, mas maganda pa rin performance ng well powered Mission M52 (at more HALF the cost) sa Home theater. Pero sa music, malayo lamang ng Dyn, but its another price class of course.

But do take note, I really powered the M52's very well (200w bi-amp  :o :o), baka bumili kayo ng M52 & use with a budget receiver tapos sabihin nyo pangit... :D

my m52 is powered by 150 watts stereo power amp. minsan nga ginagawa ko is set ko receiver LFE sa front lang and you can still fill the punch of the bass. you'll be amazed that this FS can give you that extra ummp.

Wow hermie m52 just for surrounds  :o Yup better use it as your fronts esp for movies ;) IMHO its has diff sound characteristic from your paradigms and would excel better on movies kasi detailed speaker sya  :) Si matt kasi kinuha na ng AUDIO NIRVANA- SARS  ;D kaya he replaced it with better speakers for audio listening.

Volare series are laid back. In audio, the image is at the back. Tends to excel more in audio. speakers tend to disappear in the room.

M5 series more frontal, aggressive, image is near. Tends to excel in HT.

Depends na lang w/c you prefer.

just my 2 cents.

I just read that the RXV 1700 replaces the 2600! Same specs (130w) na sila except for some features that are exclusive to the 2xxx series like YPAO memory, GUI, HDMI upconversion.

All you need to do is to hook up those speakers for HT (1700 awarded "Best for HT" W HiFi 2006), then go for:

CDP--->tube pre-amp---> Yamaha 1700 in pure direct mode (tube pre-amp takes over)---> M52

and you have a wonderful hybrid setup that kicks @$$ in both HT and audio!!!  :o :o :o

my system is some what like matz have mentioned, rather a lower end setup. player -> tube buffer -> yamaha  -> power amp. yamaha set to pure direct when listening to audio while digital connection on HT, buffer will be bypassed. good enough for me.
