Sirs, how much are Promac DVD players going for in Raon these days? I scouted one of the nearby malls and found out that the Promacs are being sold at around P2,700 up. I'd like to know how much the price difference is with Raon to gauge if making the trip there is worth the hassle. Also, what models should I pay close attention to? Apparently, there are quite a few of them out there. I'd appreciate your inputs.

Additional, are the PROMACs DTS Surround capable?

Bump lang po.

I'd appreciate your iputs regarding the Raon Promac prices and models coz I'll be buying within the week so I need to know kung pupunta pa ko sa Raon or sa mall na lang kung konti lang ang difference. Thanks.

PROMAC DVD Player has weird feature !?!
« Reply #217 on: Sep 26, 2005 at 10:06 PM »
Guys, hello there!

I bought this budget PROMAC player for P1,800 at the recently opened SHopwise Harrison PLaza. Dirt cheap for a widely recognized brand, right? I don't mind if this player only has 2-channel stereo outputs (no wonder it's mura), because I intended it for use with a 14" TV set in a small room.

A very unusual feature of this DVD player is that  the screen size for the DVD movie cannot be adjusted. I guess most DVD players have the feature of switching the screen size from 4:3 to 16:9 widescreen. But on the PROMAC player, it's entirely non-functional. So for example, when I plug in a DVD that has an aspect ratio of 2.40:1 (small viewing area), the screen output comes out 1.85:1 (slightly enlarged).

Probably a manufacturing defect, but not a problem for me, though. I think this player does justice for small TV sets, don't you think?  ::)

PROMAC 3203...

the best promac with divx player...

i've tested it for two days before i sold it to  my cousins...

it has all you ever need on a generic dvd player... plus DivX/Xvid/Mpeg-4... fast loading, read all kinds of dvd/cd i tried...

but only 1 drawback why i sold it to my cousins... no DTS support... MUTE output sya... i think all PROMAC has no DTS support... cuz i saw a lot of promac but no DTS logo on their box or on the dvd player itself...

but i guess this is the best GENERIC DVD PLAYER WITH DIVX... for around P2k only...

thanks a lot...

Hey guys! I just want to ask if anybody knows where the nearest promac service center is.  I live in Biñan, Laguna.  My player just concked out on me (dead set, no standby power).  Any info will be highly appreciated.  TIA

Sir, kung may warranty pa, dalahin mo na lang sa kung saan mo binili, i know for sure na pwede nilang gawin yan or kung hindi man, they can refer you to an authorized service center. Sa halip na ikaw ang magkalikot nyan, baka tuluyang masira eh mawala pa ang warranty. Just my few cents.

sir thank you for the reply, unfortunately, out of warranty na eh.  I really just want to have it fixed (siguro naman hindi masyadong mahal yun).  That is why I am asking where the service centers of Promac are (would you where sir maski sa Raon area?).  BTW, medyo OT na to ( why is it that when I was using that Promac DVD player, hooked up to a Sakura AV-387A, why is it that when viewing movies, some of the dialogues come also from the surround speakers, di ba dapat sa center lang since na ito ang dialogue box?).  Thanks a lot.

the last promac dvd player i bought(4401) was a lemon. after less than six months, it starts conking out, skipping, sometimes "no disc" appears even if i insert an orig disc.  >:(

labas-pasok sa service center. sayang, ok sana sya mag-play ng divx/avi files. oh well...

Hi!  I also have the same problem with my Promac DVD Player.  It has not been working for 3 months.  Do you know any Promac Service Center near Buendia Pasay.  I would really appreciate receiving your feedback.
