Guys, hello there!
I bought this budget PROMAC player for P1,800 at the recently opened SHopwise Harrison PLaza. Dirt cheap for a widely recognized brand, right? I don't mind if this player only has 2-channel stereo outputs (no wonder it's
mura), because I intended it for use with a 14" TV set in a small room.
A very unusual feature of this DVD player is that the screen size for the DVD movie cannot be adjusted. I guess most DVD players have the feature of switching the screen size from 4:3 to 16:9 widescreen. But on the PROMAC player, it's entirely non-functional. So for example, when I plug in a DVD that has an aspect ratio of 2.40:1 (small viewing area), the screen output comes out 1.85:1 (slightly enlarged).
Probably a manufacturing defect, but not a problem for me, though. I think this player does justice for small TV sets, don't you think?
