And the Jack Ryan Boxset is also included in my list, I am pretty sure saw a Lion King SE when they started the Disney Sale. It was actually being offered to me and I told the sales lady na memorize ko na yang Lion King kasi my kid views that every night para siya makatulog

Medyo tahimik na thread na to ah. Di ko alam kung napanuod na nila more than 10 dvd na nabili sa astro podium or nag aabang na naman ng bagong sale ha ha ha ha. Musta na nabili nyo kulang pa ba. Abangan me sale na naman.

Maybe they are preparing their list for the next sale. Be careful on your shopping, beware of dvd-5, low quality cover and casing. You're gonna waste your money.

No, dvd-5 titles are not disclosed in its label. Most of titles are priced at P299. If you have computer, you can easily identify the nature of the disk...kaso pag nabili mo na...wala nang balikan. Ang maganda nyan, ma-familiar ka sa mga titles na dvd-9. If you're planning to shop this comming sale, you may ask assistance from fellow members.

Based on my experience yung DVD5 mostly are the ones priced at 199 each and discs that have a VIVA logo at the back of the casing.Andami ko nito

And one thing more pangit yung cover nito mostly.

If the price is P299 and it is released by Magnavision, then you may assume that the title is in DVD5. If you are unfamiliar with the titles, you may ask the sales personnel to confirm if it's a Magnavision release. On the other hand, all of C-Interactive releases are in DVD5. The C-Interactive logo is usually shown at the back cover.

Sad But TRUE! Bought them early this year. But hey. My cuz has the original one and comes in a flipper which is dvd5...so OK na rin. DTS naman eh

ang dami nitong magna na priced at 299 di ba?.... oo nga...try nalang magtanong sa mga sales personnel if its a magnavision release. by the way sir,does it mean na pangit ang transfer if its on dvd5? or lacking lang sa features? thanks sir.

It may not be noticable. But I think the PQ & SQ suffers compared to DVD9s.

Some movies encoded in a DVD5 may have the same quality as that of a DVD9, specially if the DVD5 is only a bare-bones version (that is , it only contains only the movie with just one audio track and has no special features). However for longer-than-usual movies, the picture and sound qualites may suffer.

Some of these P299 DVDs are originally 2-disc sets kaya definitely, these single-disc sets do not contain all of the special features in the original release (or they may not contain any other special features aside from short movie trailers).

Just plug in a p*dvd, then compare it to an original DVD. That's the best way to see the difference between a DVD5 and DVD9, since almost all pirated DVDs are DVD5.

Did VIVA release DVD5s? i think their P299 sale are all DVD9s. IMHO, VIVA have been releasing pretty good R3 releases, mostly comparable to it's R1 counterparts. please correct me if i'm wrong $:-\$

Yeah the JACK dvd I got during the sale is a DVD5. It has the Buenavista holographic seal and the VIVA copyright at the back. I do not know if said title was originally released in R1 as DVD5 though.
