We are going to have vacation on December there.  My wife is working in Citibank.  I can bring mine and have some listening.  We can also go to Edwin's place there to share tripath power at his place, if he is available.  Because he is an SS and Tube type guy.  You can PM him so that you can meet.  His handle in PDVD is "Edwin"

Ingatz bro.

It's not applicable to fullrange or pointsource driver or single driver.  But it is possible for 2 way speakers. Other D.I.Y used Tripath 2024 for the Hfreq. and Tripath TK2050 for the low frequency.  You must have a separate Pre amp. :)

thanks, is the purpose of the pre amp is to regulate the volume?  can i just adjust it using the two amps?

yes, you need an electronics cross-over though.........

one time i went to Malabon with Edrel, this guy RV(not a member of this forum) showed us his 5 way system, he's into multi-amp, multi speaker set-up, he uses a Rane 5-way electronics cross-over and had an amp with T-amps, i believe they wer Lepai's, 5 stereo amps in a single chassis, Aikido line amps using 7193/2C26 horny tubes........they drive the low mids, high mids, tweeters using horns......

Re: T-amp Discussion Thread --- Dayton DTA 100a Video
« Reply #1333 on: Aug 17, 2011 at 11:56 PM »
This is my video of Dayton DTA 100a which I got from Ivan (a.k.a Kemozavi) last Saturday August 13, 2011.  After an all day break in period estimated 8hours.  In other words, not yet fully broken in up to this date I posted the You Tube video.

I only upgraded the DC Power Cap with Evox Rifa PEH 169 2200uf.  I chose this cap for its sweet detailed character.

Here is the You Tube Video link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgsyO8h2aPg

I am hoping the SQ will improve better as I continue the breaking in period.  So far, I agree with Carl (a.k.a Xtian_lugz) why he loves Dayton DTA 100a.  Also, will try Topping TP22 in the future. ;)
Ganda parang nasa harap mo yung kumakanta :)

Pwede po parequest ng hotel california live :)

Thanks ;D ;D ;D

I've always liked Lyngdorf and TacT for having robust fully digital designs. NAD's M2 direct digital amp is also a welcome addition to the group.

Sony (S-Master), Panasonic (XR models), Victor/JVC (RX-D models) and Sharp (1-Bit) have lower-cost direct digital implementations, afaik. I think most other major CE makers are jumping-in the bandwagon, because it makes sense design-wise (cost/performance can be improved, especially for lower cost envelope modules/products and smaller form factors). Sharp tried to make it in the higher end segment with some of their pricier 1-Bit Technology products, but they had to return downmarket.

Sir Gutchy  ;)

audiophiler red caps ata ginamit (available at eleshop ronquillo), room for improvement kung gusto palitan.

Agree.  It's not the power that counts, the reason why I love my tripath is the SQ.  Meaning, I am not after for those high powered Tripath amps.  As per experience, low wattage tripath amps produce better SQ and those in the wattage of 50watts is my maximum.  Beyond that wattage, I am not sure if the SQ particularly details and  soundstage will be like tube-SS combo characters.  Sometimes, higher wattage on tripath is like having a good qualtiy SS amp but not as sweet, and detailed like tube amps.   As much as possible, I want to stay close with the original design tripath Sonic Impact TA 2024 and TK2050 if you need good bass kick.  Those two types of tripath chips are my favorites and for keeps with regards to SQ.

tumpak!  kaya ako ta2024 loyalist. excellent SQ esp mids and HF. heavenly matched with my speakers. yung bass, bahala na si subwoofer  ;D

I experimented the DTA 100a.  By using a very good quality DC power cap like Evox Rifa PEH 169 2200uf 63v, the overall frequencies improved as in details were all there and an outstanding mid and low freq. I am  not sure with other DC Power Cap. What I know is that low ESR is very good character of DC Power cap.

Some ref.about ESR: http://wiki.xtronics.com/index.php/Capacitors_and_ESR

So, if you want to buy one, you must look for the lowest ESR possible.  Don't just look for the brand.  Some cheaper capacitor have low ESR too.  Though, most LOW ESR caps are good quality capacitors.

To be sure that your speakers will kick bass, you must use tripath amp with TK2050 chip.  Upgrade the DC Power cap with a low ESR 2200uf value.

Here are the list of LOW ESR Capacitor Manufacturers that is available in the market:  click link:http://www.capacitorlab.com/low-esr-capacitor-manufacturers/
