Based on what can be seen from your collection:

Lord of the Rings series is pretty good, especially the battle scenes.

Indiana Jones and Harry Potter series should also be good.
No room acoustic treatment is like running a Ferrari on ice.

di ako masyadong "fans" ng war movies (saving private ryan, black hawk donw), or the fast and the future series.

Seems to me that you're looking for subtlety in the surround mix rather than the slam-bang type of effects.

Try some horror movies.  The genre started shifting to subtlety starting in the late 90's, so you'd want to stay away from the slasher flicks of the 70's and 80's.

any others?

Any others?  E di "The Others:D (2001, Nicole Kidman)

In one scene, I heard ghosts' whispers from the back of my head, despite the fact that my surround speakers are wall-mounted about 3 feet above my head.  In another scene, a thumping sound is heard overhead and in the center of the listening room.  It's amazing how they managed to balance the sound mix so well.  Truly startling and spine-chilling.

The talented Alejandro Amenabar was less than 30 years old when he wrote, directed and scored the music for this movie.

Twister
The Perfect Storm

Here's what you do for both movies.

Forward to the stormy scenes.  Close your eyes, close the lights and listen to your surround system.  It's as if you're in the middle of the "twister" and the "perfect storm".  try it.

I got the issue 148 at P620. Since the demo DVD is FREE thus, expect the same price.

Some shops may jack up the price to over P800 per copy. :)

The scene where the bad guy was talking while invisible pans his voice around all your speakers several times

Hi Guys! ;D

When I want to bring out the best in my HT, I use the following DVD movies...

1. Blade 2 - Any action fight or chase scene.
2. Open Range - Gunfight battle at the end, particularly the shotgun scene.
3. Minority Report - Gun fight in the car factory with the barrels falling scene. This will really test your subs.
4. U571 - The dept charge explosion scene.

Hot Fuzz DDex

Extensive use of surrounds (like Hong Kong DVD's). And they use the surrounds LOUD. Not for the weak HTiB or distortion galore.

The Wild

soso movie but the surrounds were very active.

ok rin demo yung movie na Bad Company - yung 1 chapter yung binabaril si chris rock sa street near the stairs, nag ri-ricochet yung bullets parang your in the middle of the scene mismo.

meron pa, yung ovation dvd audio/video calibration, meron doon DTS demo na you can hear the person's foot step walking right past you and opening  the door and walking away slaming the door, then getting in the car, starting the engine you'll feel like your inside the car, and he'll turn on the radio ma-feel mo na nasa harap mo yung dashboard ng car..etc. galing. :)

True eh...Unfortunately I found out from the seller that our import issues would not come with the Free Demo Disc. Only certain countries daw will have the Free Demo Disc. :(
