Skylark,

I'm not sure about the sub you are mentioning but most have an audio-out BUT it is not for driving speakers. It is to daisy-chain to another sub.

You actually can. Assuming that your sub has speaker level outs. Connect the left and right out of the dvd player to the sub's line level input and you can connect the speakers to the speaker level out of the sub.  :)

Really? Wala pa akong nakitang ganoon... ahh! Except yung subwoofer ng computer ko, it has speaker level outs. What I know is that the speaker level outs of subwoofers will only work if you use the speaker level ins as well. I should try this at home and find out.

Sorry for the wrong info skylark.

Not possible.

Since you are feeding the sub with line-level input then the speaker out of the sub wont function.

You can connect the DVD player's L and R audio out to the L and R line level input of a powered sub.  But all you'll get is summed L + R low pass signals for the bass frequencies.  And, Philander is right, since you'd be using the line level inputs, you cannot use the speaker level output to drive satellite speakers.  The DVD player's LFE out is the one you should connect to the powered sub, in the absence of an HT receiver.
