thanks !  no it's not in a condo. it's in our office. our business is video production so this is where our clients view their finished presentations.

problem ko lang yung orange cement walls. anyone can recommend how to treat this. the diffuser on the ceiling is just a DIY plywood with 2 in fiberglass sheets ( from MC depot ) not sure if it works though.

also can anyone comment on the placement of the surround ( wharf DFS ). Isn't it too high ( 8.5ft )  . I placed it there because that is the neatest place I can put them. THe other place i can place them would be beside the dolby poster kaya lang pangit itsura nya dun

Very nice setup! awesome!

What Optoma is that? H27?

The Wharfe DFS is fine at its location. Bipolars are supposed to be placed near the ceiling and rear wall so the sound would have the space to bounce around making the effect more dispersed.

Based on the pic above, since there is a curtain on one side, you have to treat the other side with some sound absorbing material to balance it. Otherwise, the sound will be absorbed on one side and it will bounce on the other. The best recommendation would be to have another set of curtains. Or just put sound absorbing panels on the side of your cement wall.

If you are using fiberglass sheets then its not a diffuser, its an absorber. It probably works, but based from research, the best for ceiling would still be diffusion effect. Your ceiling is already slotted, it works as a diffuser already, but the slots should be horizontal from the sound source.

Just my 2 cents   :)

yup,  optoma H27.

i would like to hang pictures and posters on the side wall kasi. is there a way that I can still use this as a gallery with sound absorbing characteristics. if i go for the panels, how will i know how many i would be needing and where should i place it ?

I dont know mush about the ready made panels. I saw them in the Nov. HiFi show and last time I asked it was around 36k for 8 panels (4ft x 8 inches/panel). (audioworld, Banawe).

You can go for DIY, which I did, and cover your left wall with DIY panels . This was how I did mine:
1.) Get a cloth from Shell canvass that matches your curtain, its the cloth you use for computer chairs and acoustic partitions.
2.) Then get a carpenter to make square/rectangle supports with 1x2 wood, whatever size you want
3.) Wrap the cloth around the wooden supports and staple gun them
4.) Buy (fiberglass) insulation materials  from MC home depot. Cheapest was around P180 per sqm, last time I asked. But you need to put multiple layers of this to make it effective.
5.) Spread the fiberglass insulation on the wall and use thin pieces of wood (1/2" x 2") with nails on BOTH sides to nail your fiberglass to the wall
6.) With nails sticking out of the thin wood, just  hammer your cover to the wall gently.

Then you can put your pictures by nailing them to the wood supports. This option definitely wont cost you 36k  ;)

Hope that helped

thanks sir mazter,

very similar to my DIY ceiling absorber.  but do i need to cover the whole wall ?  if I were to make a 2 ft  x 4ft DIY absorber ( plywood with fiberglass sheet, covered with canvas cloth )  similar to my ceiling absorber, can i just leave them leaning on the wall, like those in the HiFi show?  how would I know where to place them exactly ?

My HT room is around 14 sq/m pero open kasi yun likod dahil kitchen na yun kadugtong ng sala namin.  ??? TIA...
