Advise on my Yamaha setup
« on: Jan 11, 2006 at 06:18 PM »
recently bought a packaged combo of yamaha rxv-457, front: ns-7390 (the 3-way type), center&sur: ns-p70, sub: yst-sw215. am really wondering if this setup is ok in a medium-sized living rm wid open-air access to certain areas. initally thought of pairing the receiver wid wharf diamond floorstander fronts (similarly priced wid the yamaha 3-way) and dipole center and surrounds but i was not advised to do so because i don't have a rear wall... so... i bought same components na lang (actually i don't know if using yamaha speaker components is a good decision). used gauge 12 audiopro cables on the fronts and center and gauge 14 on the surrounds.

am a newbie in ht setups. am posting this to ask your opinion on how to maximize this simple setup through tuning and future upgrade tips if possible. honest opinions are welcome. thanks in advance :)
