Packaging looks good though.... an improvement maybe on C-Interactive.

Warner has full rights in the US. Not so in Asia. I asked Warner Philippines about Alexander and they confirmed that the territorial rights would revert to them... in 2011. :P

They've released only the Director's Cut version (at least, according to the label / packaging).  It's a two disc set and very tempting at P375 (if not for the bad rep of C-Interactive).

Did anybody risk buying this title?  Any comments?

I saw this in several stores.  In fairness, packaging looks nice.  Nag-improve sila sa mga P375 release nila (same with Butterfly Effect and Spy Kids).  Monster In Law has a slipcase at P425.  Tempting bilhin pero....C-Interactive kasi eh. ???

C-Interactive really, really craps up the titles that they release. PQ suffers badly because they compress the data to fit in a DVD5. Some pirated discs (Not as many as you would think, a lot of pirated DVD9s have compressed data as well) have far better PQ. Has anyone actually purchased this disc? I would love to be proven wrong because I want this title as well...

Have ANY of C-interactive's releases been pressed on dual layer(DVD9) discs? I know they also sell the LOTR trilogy, are those compressed to fit DVD5s as well?!?!?

Correct. Packaging is quite an improvement. Especially with "Monster In Law". Pero hanggang dun nalang. I dont even fancy the selection of C-interactive, so its not a big loss for me.

The LOTR discs that I have are both in 2-disc DVD-5s.  I'm planning to refund it, I just don't have time yet.

bought this last weekend at tower for around 333 because of the 10% discount of bpi edge.

yup its dvd5. pero pwede na.

i havent watched this movie yet so sulit na din to.

full features.

i didnt notice any major pixelation in my 29" tv.

I've been trying to justify you.
In the end I will just defy you.

Wow...I can't believe they were allowed to crap around with these movies!

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, this is a dealbreaker for me. Almost 3 hours in a DVD5 disc? There will certainly be visible PQ issues on my HT setup. I think I'll be getting the Region Zero (hehehe...) version and see how that goes and if PQ still sucks maybe an R1....  ;D

I did not watch it when it was released in the cinemas. But not as bad as what critics would say. The film just lack the gloss of let say "Gladiator" or even "Troy".  Well, I guess Oliver Stone wanted to make the movie as real as possible and maybe a little fiction could have spiced up the movie.

I also wanted to see Oliver Stone's interpretation of ancient historical battles.  It was a different take on things and the action scenes were not that bad. Another aspect of the movie that I like was the costumes and the set because you feel that you were in a time that was pre-Roman Empire (compare it to Gladiator or Rome in HBO, you know that they were more primitive).

I took a gamble on this because I did not want an expensive "Alexander" in my collection. In fairness, both of the discs played and the packaging was good. The only disappointment was that it should be on DVD9.  :-[

I'm tempted to buy this, because of the improvement on the packaging, 2 disc and Directors Cut.  Maybe I can"Balewala" the C-Interactive title. ;D
