No, I'm not talking about Disney's endless string of trailers at the start of their discs.
I was a bit surprised when I placed my R2 DVD of
Cold Feet: The Complete Third Series into my machine. After the standard Copyright Warnings and Studio Logo, I actually got a commercial for United Airlines. No, you can't scan through it or skip to the menu to bypass it, either. You MUST sit through every time you put this disc into your machine.
The 15 second spot didn't actually annoy me, but I was thinking... would I have felt differently if it were a string of commercials almost 5 minutes long? If it were, say, a Chow King commercial at the start of an R3 disc? I thought one of the purposes of getting something on video was to avoid commercials that come with the program on broadcast TV.
Well, if it keeps the prices down, then I guess I can live with it.
