Hi.  How does one buy a region 2 or region 4 dvd here in the Philippines?  I'm interested in some titles that have no region 1 or region 3 release.   

Is amazon.co.uk the only possible way to get region 2/4 dvds?  Is there a local distributor/company/specialty seller?

How much does a region 2/4 dvd typically cost?

No local distributor for any regions here in the Philippines.  You can only buy on line.  Prices from 1k up.

Region 2/4 DVDs here in Dubai costs:

AED100-120 if new & double disc.

AED69-79 if new & single disc.

AED 15-45 if luma na (kahit single or double or special collector's edition pa sya)

BTW, AED1.00 = Php14.00

Try the Virgin Megastore UAE website, they take orders, I just don't know if pwedeng dyan ang bagsak. Naka-order ako sa kanila last month ng region 1 box set DVD.

wala lang akong credit card, gusto ko sanang bumili ng a matter of life and death {1946} na dvd. it's only available in region 2 PAL, kaya di ako makakuha. try kong manghiram ng credit card sa secretaryko next week

One way or another, you need to have 'plastic money'.

In some part of the States (U.S.), they charge you (or will not sell) for using cash, just to encourage the use of credit cards. Including here in the UAE, you'll have a hard time asking for a loan if you have no credit record.

The only catch is, you need to control yourself vs. overspending.

Like computers, it's one of those "the global way of the future" thingies.

I'll try to check the price of that DVD you want here...

i tried using my banco de oro international atm card and it worked.i  was finally able to order from amazon.uk.co the dvd of a matter of life and death {1946} from carlton entertainment, it's a region 2 PAL dvd and i've been waiting for this dvd for around 2 years .

amazon.uk.com already emailed me that they have ACCEPTED AND dispatched my order to me this april 8, 2006 and the dvd will arrive AROUND  aPRIL 21 TO APRIL 28, 2006.
